My hairdresser recommended that I get a filter for my shower - I have very hard water, which we treat with a salt system. She thought the salt system was a reason why I can't keep a keratin treatment for any length of time. She also thought the filter made the water great for hair and skin. She recommended aquasana. anyone use this? or if not, if you use a shower filter, which brand do you use? Do you notice a difference? My hesitation about the aquasana is there seems to be alot of mixed reviews, so just want to hear some extra first hand feedback. Let me know please!

I do use a shower filter -- Aquabliss. I've used it for over a year and believe it does make somewhat of a difference. This product is available at Amazon. Honestly, can I live without it, absolutely.

We've been using a shower head filter for many years and I sure can tell when it's time to replace the filter!
It really makes a big difference in my hair and skin!
The brand of ours in Sprite Showers, purchased at Home Depot.

@moonandthestars I have well water, too, I decided against the Aquasana because it removes chlorine, which is not the problem. I had a Sterling an in-line cartridge filter installed & use Living Proof triple detox clarifying shampoo every third wash.

@cantdrive55 Hi, thank you for that feedback - sorry for the delayed reply! (haven't been on here for a little while). I saw that too when I looked up the aquasana that it seemed mainly for chlorine issues, which like you, I don't have. I do have very hard water (minerals) and we have it softened with salt and my hair person seemed to think the aquasana removed the salt at the showerhead endpoint. I don't know if that's so from what I've read. I do think she had a point tho about the salt being a problem for keratin not lasting, so I do want to try something. I'll look into the shower filter that you mentioned ![]()

@El_Lay Hi, the t3 shower filter is what you have and use? I'll def. look into that too. Where did you purchase yours?

@KingstonMom Thanks for that feedback on the sprite. That comes up in online searches with many positive reviews. I'm thinking about this brand too. Do you know which model / type you have? There seem to be many to choose from!

@Indra Hi, thanks for mentioning the aquabliss. I'll look into that. What sort of difference have you noticed with it? Hair & skin seem better? Or? Was there a particular problem you were trying to solve with it? (i.e. hard water, chlorine, etc.)

I'll have to check with DH as to the model of ours, I don't see anything printed on it, it's all chrome.
I can tell a real difference in my hair and skin using mine, hair's much softer, skin not as dry and soaps or body washes lather up much more.
I can tell when it needs replacing, the spray of the shower on my skin stings when it's time to replace!
