@drizzellla

Oops...that probably would have been my last perm, too.  Three days does seem like a long wait, but I now only have 48 hours to go...LOL!

Hi @SurferWife

I'll bet you look really wowzah with a perm.  Woman Very Happy

My hairdresser told me no wetness for 3 days.  I seem to remember being told that the perm is still "developing" during those addt'l 3 days, so no wetness, or chemicals. Where I heard that from?  Maybe a prior Hairdresser told me?  So I obliged & never regretted waiting.  Ater all that perm procedure time, temp smell, & $$$, who'd want to repeat the procedure again.

@SurferWife   Your profile curls look great.  I've not had a perm in 45 years.  I always hated it the first week or two.  Stinky, too tight curls.  I hope they improved since the 70's,  even body waves, were the same.  I'm sure you will love your results.

Have you tried getting a perm to make your curl pattern consistent all over?

@SurferWife  No! I had a very bad perm about 20 years ago and I said never again, I paid over 400 for it, I lost hair in my crown that came out with the rollers, it still never fully grew back as thick as it was in that area. I told myself never again! Some day when I retire (many moons from now) I may try encouraging the curl and seeing what I can do but for now, I just don't have time to do that.

Oh goodness, what a bad experience.  I used to get perms all the time, then took a break for maybe 20 years or so, but I've recently had the urge to have one, so I'm back at it.  Fortunately, I've never had a bad experience.  I'm not sure how often I'll get them.  It's been 4 years since my last one, but I'm thinking I may get them no more than twice a year.
