I am paraphrasing here ..... the details are fuzzy.

Years ago I recall a famous woman asked about her plastic surgery and did she think it made her look younger.

She chastized the interviewer and said no, she wasn't trying to "look younger" implying it was stupid to assume that.

What she wanted, she explained, was to not look any older.

I'd never thought of it that way ... interesting distinction.

When a woman stops looking like a man's wife and starts looking like his mother, a re-evaluation and "makeover" is in order.

@Tinkrbl44 If he married her for her looks, and wants something else when she looks older, she should get a great lawyer and take the dirtbag for all he's worth. That would be the best "makeover."

I tried letting my gray grow out during Covid, but still had too much natural color on top and back. Didn't look good. Grew it out again recently because I was so tired of dyeing my hair auburn and having the roots grow out in a couple of weeks. The contrast was very ugly with the warm tone and the gray tone together. I keep it very short. I'm 70 and I like not having to deal with dyeing it. Now it's all a pretty sparkly silver and I love it!

This is my problem also! My hair texture is frizzy and hay like in appearance without color. Even my stylist said I would not get that gorgeous smooth gray or white hair as she can see what I look like every 4wks for my color. I have naturally curly hair and graying has made it even more "wirey". After coloring my texture is so awesome...so I don't see me going gray anytime soon. I am in my 50's so I think I can keep coloring for awhile or until I go home to be with The Lord

My husband has had salt & pepper hair since I met him in his early 20's....he was totally gray before 40 and is pretty much all white now for a long time. Genetics...his Mom was just like this too.

ALL men consider a woman's looks to be important, even if not the most important thing. Women marry men for many reasons ... looks, earning potential, compatibility, etc.

I would say that the only men who don't marry for looks are BLIND, but that wouldn't be accurate.

Stevie Wonder has been married FIVE TIMES ... and all his wives were physically beautiful. Someone obviously told him that. LOL

@Starpolisher , Sorry for delayed response! This stuff makes your hair straighter, not stick straight and you still have body in it- It fills the open hair strands, which is the reason we get frizz. It held on me for 2 months!! Amazing!
It's called SMOOTH (find it at Big A). Follow instructions and start with lesser product to see what you think, at first. You must use it in a well-ventilated room, and add a fan (strong fumes)! But honestly, it's so easy, I can't believe what salons charge for this! But I hate salons. I cut and color my own hair. It's easy.
