LOL!  I'll wait until I'm dead to go gray!

@SurferWife

My mom will be 94 in October. I have never seen her with grey hair!

I think I'm going to wait until September and then get my hair colored.

No, not me for along time! My hair is awful texture, frizzy, coarse, dry as hay- Going gray  the hair cuticle is un-Filled, and makes my texture even worse- In fact I am going to do the at-home keratin treatment again this summer. Gives me the glossy no-frizz hair I wasn't born with!!  Yay, science!

@Skyegirl21

Does the Keratin  treatment leave your hair with body? Or does it make it slick straight? My hair is frizzy too in the summer. What's the name of the treatment? I'm interested in this.

@monicakm I would love to see Lewis Capaldi, too. He is the funniest man with the most beautiful singing voice.

I don't think that he would mind my grey hair, either. Keeping it on topic.

BTS are cute, but they are amazing performers. Singing, rapping, dancing & they are also very smart & kind. They have spoken at the U.N. twice. And they are funny.

Anthony Youn is not the father of any of them, but I have watched him some on youtube & enjoy him.

Re: Going Grey...probably Not!😅

whenever i attempted to stop coloring  i'd just see the inch or so of fresh growth of what looked like a hard steely gray .

so i always ran back to the bottle. then i tried switching to a semi or demi perm - this helped in that the line of color and new growth wasn't so harsh.

it's really not that bad it just requires patience and acceptance.  i keep the bra-band length and do healthy cuts to get the old color out and i don't need gobs of conditioner and hair masks and leave-ins now.

do i look older?  maybe.  i'm not that grey except in the front (the Money Pieces") ...do i care?   ahhh i had my day ...

I'm thankful that I have a DD who is a stylist.  I'm naturally an ashy, dishwater blonde with natural highlights, or used to be once upon a time.  I have no idea what my natural color would look like now. She keeps my hair in a pretty combo of light blond highlights and light brown lowlights. I think naturally greying hair in people who started out with dark hair is very attractive.  I doubt I'd get the same effect and I'm too leery to try.

Thank you Trinity! I'm always uncomfortable posting pictures of myself on the Internet. Sometime I have a brave moment but always change my mind! 😊

So I tend to think I look younger than I am.

HA! I am only fooling myself.

I went to get my hair cut with a new stylist. When she was finished and I was paying, I noticed the sign with the pricing. I said oh, you have a senior citizen discount. She said I already applied the discount.

I guess I don't look as young as I thought.

@drizzellla I also only have a few gray hairs that are hardly noticeable.  I'm almost 69 and take after my dad.  My hair can get so dark that I have been adding subtle highlights 3x a year just to add some brightness around my face.

In my mind because I have a head full of dark hair, I feel younger than I probably look.  Still battle some saggy skin and weight issues.

No senior discounts at my salon though!

I get it from my Mom's side of the family.

My Mom had a cousin who was well into her 80s. Her health declined and she moved into a Nursing Home. All her "friends" who were close to her age, were commenting "Now she is in a nursing home, she won't be able to get her hair dyed. Now we will able to see her REAL hair color."

HA! HA! Mom's cousin still had long black hair, two years later.

@drizzellla I am sorry for your cousin.  What a bunch of friends those were.  Good grief.  Going to a nursing home and your "friends" are whispering about your hair?  Wow.  I can't imagine that.  Said from personal experiences in this topic. . .

I would love the freedom (and more money from not coloring) of gray hair, but will never do it until my husband's hair goes gray.  He looks much younger than he is and has black hair with hardly any gray!  Me?  I would be salt and pepper if I didn't have mine colored.

A neighbor has dark hair.  During Covid, his wife decided to let hers go gray, and when you see them out, she honestly looks like his mother; it has aged her that much.

I am already 6 years older than my husband.  If I went gray, with his young looks, I would probably look 15 years older.  No can do!

@Ainhisg

Important consideration!

When a woman stops looking like a man's wife and starts looking like his mother, a re-evaluation and  "makeover" is in order.

JMO, of course.
