Givency Rouge Interdit Black Magic Lipstick

My sis bought this, tried it, did not like it and offered it to me. YES, she cleaned it off thoroughly and I tried it a couple of times. IMO she paid waaay too much for this. She thinks so too. We both feel it didn't peform as advertised!

I gave it back to her (after cleaning it off) and she will use it as it is too much trouble to send back such a small item.

All color changing lipsticks turn a garish shade of hot pink on me, no matter what the brand or cost.

I purchased this a couple years ago.  Did not do one thing on my lips.

That happened to me as well w/this lipstick. I'm glad I got a sample.

Never used it, but maybe it will work over another lipstick to make a pretty color?

My sister and girlfriends must be totally gross because we wouldn't wipe off our lipsticks, lol. We just say "Girl,I need some lipstick!", and hand over the lipstick. Ha ha.

Yep!  Because I have a darker base color though, some of the MoodMatchers do vary slightly.  Yep, the very same lip stains from the old days, available still, on Amazon for less than $2 .  I bought a complete set fo about $12  one, because of the absurdity of selling an old idea for a fortune and trying to convince the customer that this is some novel, exclusive, couture lip treatment, two because this is highway robbery, third because I use the original under a current shade of lipstick to avoid the raggedy half worn look when the newer lipsticks give out, and they all do, " long wear", " bulletproof" et al.

Don't you find the featured selling point being the impression on others when you pull a lipstick out of your purse a tad superficial? Irrelevant?

I think it kind of depends. Some people really like this one because the bullet itself is black and they love to see people freak out when they apply a black lipstick and it comes out pink.

If you're just talking about the packaging, sure, but some people are into that. But if they are, I think they're better off with the Kat Von D studded lipsticks, which look really luxe and cool for $21. Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks look amazing and are $54. Or they could go ALL THE WAY and get a ridiculosly expensive Louboutin lipstick for $90 with packaging that could take an eye out.

Kat Von D

Guerlain Rouge G:

Louboutin:

All three put the Givinchy to shame in the packaging department.

Re: Givency Rouge Interdit Black Magic Lipstick

@ChynnaBlue I swiped a Chanel lipstick from my Mom way back when , that had a three D carriage and horses, passengers and a landscape over the most dazzling pear enamel I've ever see.  The lipstick was red, dense and but for the smell, could have been usable many years after production.  She had compacts with embellishments fit for Brooches. They were refillable.   Black leather doesn't impress me.  Neither do mutant bullet casings or wine stopper wannabes.
