I have to say that Revlon has never let me down. I don't like to spend too much on makeup and it's been my go-to for years.

Oh heck, yeah, I love drugstore cosmetic shopping. I should be a stockholder at CVS! I love their all coupons, extra bucks, and discount offers. This past Sunday, I went armed with my savings stash consisting of extra bucks, beauty club bucks, store coupons, manufacturer's coupons, and a percentage off coupon, and got $65.00 worth of goodies for $38.00 and was very, very pleased. ![]()
Whenever I find out about a new drugstore product, I always wait until I see it at CVS to purchase.
Your Revlon and Rimmel haul sounds pretty sweet, ForTheLuv. I'm really wanting to try the new Cover Girl TruMagic Skin Perfector. It looks like a Mally dupe. I also want their TruBlend Fixstick. I'll check it out this weekend probably.

I use Cover Girl makeup and it's $3 more at Walgreen's and $5 more at my grocery store. I find that Walgreen's makeup is really priced high so I buy my makeup and facial products at Walmart.

I shop the drugstore for color cosmetics. I've come to the conclusion that no one can tell if I have on $50 Chanel mascara or Revlon! I guess I'd rather spend my money on skincare and less on color.

Many of the drugstore cosmetics are rooted from their higher end sisters...for instance, L'Oreal is the drugstore sister of Lancome. If you are aware of the color palate...they are basically the same...and have the same ingredients..all you are paying for is the nicer packaging and the higher costs for demonstrators behind the counter and advertising in chic magazines.

I find very little difference in drugstore makeup vs. high-end lines.
Even the packaging of the high-end lines are becoming quite cheap looking.

I don't spend huge amounts on what I DO buy, but even if I did, how does that affect anyone else?
I've never understood why someone's choice or preference should be cause for a debate or argument or snide remarks one way or the other.
Hi Suzy!
I agree with you. I've tried several DS products. No luck with foundation or eyeshadow. I have a DS mascara in rotation, but it looks many times better when paired with a higher end one.
I use Roc skin care products and like them very much.
I am an equal opportunity shopper. I buy what works and if it happens to not be DS, then I guess I'm a snob
. I would rather not throw three $10 eyeshadows away when I could get one that works and I use for months for $30

I would like to know if L'Oreal's Miracle Blur primer is good? I paying so much for primers that are only so-so.

I tried all those brands and more over the years. They either caused a reaction, I could not get a color match or I just did not care for the performance of the product.
It doesn't matter to me. I just think you are full of it. You are saying that you HAVE to use those brands because of your "sensitive' skin and there is NOTHING in your more expensive products that are BETTER for your skin in that foundation you are buying. THAT was my point. You are making excuses, as most people do about WHY they buy more expensive. It just simply is NOT TRUE that there are not just as good of products in the drugstore. It is what you BELIEVE and FEEL that makes you think that way. But again....I could care less and it is your cash. But btw, you are NOT getting "MORE" for your 40 just because you are getting a few deluxe SAMPLES that are free most of the time. LOL. You could get much more for that 40 in the drugstore...and FULL size. Just sayin. EXCUSES....
But what the whole point boils down to, is I asked you WHY that more expensive foundation is so much better for your skin and you had no response. That is because you actually have NO CLUE do you??? You are just ASSUMING that more expensive equals better and THAT honey, is my point.
