I am so onboard with this line of thinking. I spend the big bucks too, but I have finally reached the age that I'm feeling like a idiot for it. Drug store brands are getting better and better, which is causing the products a lot of us buy to become even more expensive. It's finally got my attention. I can afford it, but I don't like being played for a fool. Done!

I agree with you. I am tired of buy the next (BIG) thing only to find out it's doesn't do anything! I just want something that will not make me super greasy but will moisturizer

I've been using Paula's Choice Earth Sourced moisturizer for several years now and it works great for me. I have oily skin and only use it at night as I don't need it under makeup, but it's not greasy and absorbs well.

I am 69 and have been using Paula's Choice products for 3 or 4 yrs now and am very very pleased. They are well researched and have a cost point that is good for me. For daytime, after I use her Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid, topped by Timeless Vit C serum, I use her Resist Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense. It is very light to the touch, not at all greasy and has SPF 30. At night I have an every other day routine. MWF I use a prescription RetinA (I would like to use it every day but it is expensive). On TTHSS I use Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment topped by her Clinical Ultra Rich Moisturizer. This way I am getting RetinA daily. Glad QVC now sells Paula's Choice products. Sometimes they have deals and packages that are even better than on the PC website.

Another vote for CeraVe moisturizers. Inexpensive with some impressive ingredients. Its performed better for me than brands x3 its price. Have combo skin with acne. They have different formulations. The one in the tub breaks me out but the rest I've never had a single problem with and it lasts forever. Also, Nivea in the blue tin works well but its best to find the one made in Germany if possible. It has better ingredients and for some reason it better than its American/Mexico counterpart.

Just go to Paulas Choice and get the moisturizer for your skin type and try with samples first. Her line is the only one to go to as the products change your skin!!!!

I am 64 years old and have tried many moisturizers and my favorite moisturizer is Philosophy Hope in a Jar. Have you tried it? It is instant perfection in a jar plus it blurs my lines immediately (if only temporary) and adds glow to my face. Every time I apply to my face and look in the mirror after application I say to myself why does my skin look so good? My skin looks rested and glows. Also Prescriptives All You Need moisturizer for normal skin is good with a plumping effect to lines and wrinkles. Hope these suggestions help.

I would suggest looking at Olay products. I have also used Neutrogena and Paula's Choice moisturizers, but I always go back to Olay. You can also add a bit of baby oil to your moisturizer too. I have very oily skin, but I have used SPF moisturizers on my face since my teen years. I am in my 50s with very few wrinkles.

I am 66 with normal to dry skin in the summer and dry skin in the winter. I have trouble with most moisturizers making me dryer and making my skin red....even many of the mild ones (or "so-called" mild) These past few weeks I have switched to the Argan and redness be gone! Oh, and dry skin be gone, too! I am loving the night oil and the daytime with spf. I would think oilier skin types could get by with the "light oil". I do buy a drugstore exfoliator and use once or twice a week. I notice a difference with that, too.
