Face comparisons with different makeups

I have not gone out much this week so been comparing by putting one makeup on one side and another on the other.

1.  Bareminerals bare pro on one side and original BM loose on the other.....At first the original was shinier but after a couple of hours both sides looked the same.  No real difference.

2.  Bare pro on one side and celebration powder (one in the black compact with no spf) on the other.  No real difference there either.

Needless to say barepro is going back.  If I cannot tell the difference I might as well use what I have.  Of course I used the same primers under each side.

Re: Face comparisons with different makeups

I use Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation and have for many years because it's so easy & portable. Then I spot conceal my age "freckles" w/ original BM. I found if I wear a v-neck or lower top, the BM powder used w/ small brush covers those same "freckles" on my chest, blend naturally into my skin color & doesn't come off on clothes like most makeups.

Re: Face comparisons with different makeups

@chiclet  Thanks for your input.  I do believe that the brush you use makes a huge difference in the final outcome.  I like to experiment on the weekends when I know I don't have anything major planned for the day. Then I go outside jogging and see how it all holds up after that!

I'm 67, so I have to be careful about how much powdery foundation I use.  I like to use Mally eyeshadow base all around my eyes first to cover all the awful redness I've developed in that area.  I then use a concealer stick or pencil on the other discolored areas.  The last step is the foundation and blush.  I find that this way I don't have to use as much foundation and I get a more natural look!

Re: Face comparisons with different makeups

Two things I noticed in promos for today's BM tsv  - one is that it looks 'greasy' on the skin, two is that it's illuminated.

I don't like either of these looks at least for me.  I would not BE wearing products like these.  I already have an IT loose bye bye powder that has an illumination shine to it and I don't like it.  I think I bought it not realizing it has a shine to IT.

Do you find BM same from the original product?

Re: Face comparisons with different makeups

I tried the Bobbie Brown stick and it did not work for my oily skin.  Today I have on the stick foundation from Lancome.  I have not loved it before but tried today with a primer.  I don't know why but hate primers under stick or liquid foundation.  It feels like I should use under powder.  I guess I just hate a bunch of layers.

I love the Lancome Teint Idole stick foundation!  Have been using it since it came out, and the color match is perfect for my very fair skin, it goes on like a dream with no primer, lasts all day, covers well, gives a great finish, powder optional.  The BB stick looks good at first but doesn't last as well as the day goes on, and it is a tad yellow for me.

I also use BM original loose foundation powder with a tiny PX concealer brush for extra coverage on chest or problem areas on face.  Usually I don't need it with the Lancome foundation as it covers beautifully with no heavy look or feel at all.

I like the Lancôme stick foundations, too, especially when traveling.  I had the same problem with the BB one being too yellow.

I use and love the Lancome stick foundation also. I don't use it with primer, but then, I've never used a face primer.

@author, can I ask what color of foundation you got?  I recently ordered this online and since I have very fair skin as you do I ordered what appeared to be the lightest shade of 110 Ivorie C (I know I should have gone to a store to make sure.  Woman LOL)  I think it's a good match, fortunately, but think I could actually use a slightly lighter color if there was one.
