Re: Dr. Denese hydroshield TSV

Question for Dr Denese users, are you at all concerned that the Hydroshield Serum has Dimethicone as the first ingredient? I have the Hydroshield and have been using it but really wonder if it is doing anything healthy for my skin or if it is just all the slippery dimethicone making my skin feel smooth. Any opinions?

I'm not concerned and here's why I believe it's doing more than making my skin feel smooth because if the slippery dimethicone:

I always want to understand the kinds of results I'm getting, so I test things myself the best I can. I'll use things on only one half of my face or use different lotions on the right or left sides of my body to see the differences myself. When I apply facial serums, moisturizers, or foundations, I usually squirt the product out on the back of my left hand and then apply from there. I did this with the Hydroshield serum I got in a .5 oz sample size and still do it with the larger sizes I have. I always rubbed the excess into the back of my hand.

I look 10-15 years younger than I am (genetics and sunscreen), but my hands and arms give away my age because I wasn't so good with the sunscreen there. They have spots and more fine lines and crepiness than my face does, by far. By the end of my small test tube, I noticed a definite difference in my hands. The back of my left hand, where I squirted the serum and rubbed in the excess, looked less dry and crepy and fine lines are much less apparent. The skin on my left hand looked brighter, too. That was the only thing I'd changed in that time and that was why I bought the 6-oz super mega gigantor sized Hydroshield they only offer in the summer AND bought the TSV.

I can see the difference.

The products from that kit work wonderfully on the hands and décolleté.

ETA - I'm saying that because if you decide not to sell or give away, you can use them on elsewhere on the body (I use all 3 on my hands)

Yes, I love using Hydroshield and the pads on my hands and elbows. I haven't used the Day Cream there, but maybe I'll give that a try. I'm afraid the color would rub off and carry separate sunscreen and handcream with SPF in my bag for my hands.

Re: Dr. Denese hydroshield TSV

Thanks so much for all the responses. I think I will try emailing customer service and see what they say. I think it's the peel pads that are breaking me out. I try not to use more than every other night. I wake up looking like an oil field. I don't have really oily skin though, just a bit in the t-zone. I was looking to restore radiance to my skin. The day cream is thick and dry to me and the hydroshield balls up on my skin. I used to use the neck serum when she had it and loved it and it didn't do that on me back then.

I wouldn't bother trying to use the products anywhere else on your body, that's pretty expensive. The products just are not working for you. You will be fine sending the kit back, you just won't get refunded the original s&h.

Re: Dr. Denese hydroshield TSV

Hard to believe you did not like the Hydroshield. I am no longer young, but I have been using Dr. Denese since her first appearance on QVC. My skin has aged very little. I purchased her pads and hydroshield. My skin is fabulous. I think Dr. Denese is a cumulative effect. My response to first poster - my experience with the pads you brings your blemishes to the surface. This happened to me also, but I continued to use the pad and skin cleared up. Now I never have blemishes and I used to get them all of the time. I guess I am saying - have you given the kit enough time.

Re: Dr. Denese hydroshield TSV

DEb I just spoke with QVC Customer Service and you can return your kit, you will just not receive the free shipping. I called to check because I am returning my TSV because I did not like the Day Cream. I found it thick and pasty to apply and tried mixing it with the serum and it still looked dull and slightly orange on my skin. I know I will never use it. And no matter what and even though I have been using it I am not happy about the Hydroshield having a filler (dimethicone) as it's first and main ingredient instead of an active, especially in such an expensive product. I don't like having that coat my skin every day and night. Just my opinion. For those of you who love it, glad it works for you. Wish I was more comfortable with it but I'm just not.

They used to make Hydroshield for the body in the blue bottle. It had the same stuff as the face and neck formula only you got a lot more. Wish they would bring those back.

I still have a teeny bit left in the blue bottle. I ration use it.

I would return it for a refund. I made that purchase as well, and I am quite pleased with it. I am sorry that it did not work out for you.

As for selling it on e-bay. I personally would never purchase a used make up.
