I was just reading an article in Glamour re: how popular dry shampoo is and I was wondering if anyone actually uses it??
If so, how does it work??
I have long, dry, curly hair. Is there a particular hair type that it works best for??
Just curious about this, thanks!!![]()

I used to use it when I was a teenager and it was awful! I do use the TreSemme product sparingly on rare occasions now and it's much better.

I use Batiste. You can get it at any drugstore. We came back from Ireland, Scotland and London and since it's a UK product it's very popular there. It's much less expensive there also. I got 2 cans from Sam's Club for about $9.97 -- special deal a few months ago.

I did when I had surgery and was in the hospital and rehab/nursing home. Dry shampoo will dry out your hair if you use it enough. I think women with oily hair have better luck with it. However, Bumble & Bumble came out with two different types according to your hair type. ![]()

I have color-treated hair that still manages to get oily after just 1 day of being washed. I spray it at the roots of my hair usually along my part and anywhere that I touch my hair a lot (like my longer bangs that I tuck behind my ears if it's in my way) when I'm trying to extend my wash to Day 2 or even Day 3. I just shoot a couple of sprays, brush it back out and it looks almost like freshly washed hair
I use the Dove dry shampoo almost exclusively - I've tried other more expenseive brands and I keep coming back to Dove. They have a "Volume" version and it really gives some ooomph to my hair. And the best part it's only like $3.

To answer your post completely, yes I do use it. It works to both absorb the excess oil at the root of your hair as well as refresh the hair from that second and third day scalp odor (I think we all know what we're talking about).
It is imperative to spray very sparingly only at the root, picking your hair up in small sections. Massage the product nicely and after several minutes brush, blowdry or style as usual. When used correctly, you will be surprised at how well it works. My tip: After massaging it in let it remain that way for as long as 15 or 20 minutes before styling. This will prove just how little you need to use!
Many brands to choose from, several right here on the Q. But I agree with @hendersonabout the Batiste product. It happens to be one of the best one out there. Good Luck!

I have black-brown hair. Almost every dry shampoo is "clear" or white and makes it look as if I have dandruff. Batiste has a "dark brown" version, which still isnt as dark on my hair and still looks really really bad. I keep a bottle, just in case and only use it when I absoltely have to. I never use it as a replacement for shampooing, just when my hair looks oilier than usual or i havent had time to wash.

Unfortunately no dry shampoo works for me. Currently in my arsenal is got 2b, TRESemme fresh start, Toni & Guy (which got great reviews), and Philosophy dry shampoo. As you can see I wanted to find one that worked because the concept is a good one. All of them seem to leave a film on my hair and do nothing to make my hair look any fresher. I've given up on dry shampoos. I have fine, though not thin, shoulder length straight hair that is not colored or chemically treated. Just wish it worked for me.

I have never used, as they say it dries out the hair. But I never found the need, unfortunately my hair is so dry on its own. UGH
