@monicakm  Will you please explain what this "tail" is that you're talking about?  I'll bet @SurferWife  and I aren't the only ones who are in the dark.

@shoesnbags @SurferWife A tail or rattail is a long piece of hair growing down one's back.  The rest of the person's hair is short.  They were popular in the late 1980's early 1990's.  Wikipedia has an entry for rattail where you can see a photo.  I personally have always thought they were ridiculous looking.

Never had one, and I wasn't really sure what it was until I read this thread!

I'm think I remember seeing it on men and thinking it looked stupid. Sorry to everyone who really likes them!

I don't recall the term rat tail. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and no my tail didn't look like that. It was about a third as long and Blended more with the rest of my hair, much like Patrick's tail only my hair was wavy not curly
