I prefer a dewy finish and lightly powder just the T zone. The cheeks having a slight sheen is a more youthful look. That's also why I prefer cream blush.

Highlighters are popular because they bring back that little bit of shine of younger skin.

You can always use a matte foundation for oily complexions, but add back some shine to the cheek area.

Satin finish as in what brand/type?  I haven't heard of satin finish.  I need to look into it.

Thanks

Definitely Matte.  I don't like the greasy look and feel.

@jackthebear   LOL. Same here, but I haven't worn a true foundation since way before COVID. I find a tinted moisturizer with concealer for touching up areas where needed is the most natural way to go... The best of both worlds. I do have a foundation stick...buildable coverage, but it rarely gets used except for special nights out.

@Sunshine Kate   I think Lancome and Estee Lauder do a satin finish foundation.

I like the look of a satin finish which I guess is somewhere in between dewy and matte. My skin is normally very shiney, not oily, and it's so smooth I have to use a primer usually to get anything to stick. So I usually end up applying a semi-matte/satin primer then a mineral powder foundation....and it's still not matte but somewhat satiny.

I am 71 with dry skin and only use a foundation with a glow. No matte for me.
