Dewy looks more natural on me.  Never used powder, can't stand the look or feel.

I switched to dewy in my 40's.

I am in my 60s.  Hate the feel of liquid foundation.  I recently got IT Celebration powder foundation, and it is working well for me.  I add a tiny bit of shimmery highlighter on top of my cheekbones, and that prevents a "too dry" look.

@Desertdi  - I'm with you - Almost always prefer a powder foundation. If you're interested, the one I have found to be the best, and reach for 99% of the time, is by Makeup Forever - just fantastic. It's Matte Velvet Skin Blur and comes in a lot of shades.

Satin.  I've always been a matte person but with my now uber dry skin, I don't want to be quite so matte but not a fan of dewy.

I like a more natural or satin finish.  My skin reacts very weirdly with many foundations.  I have dry skin but with dewy foundations my chin and forehead end up feeling like a grease slick within a few hours.

But with a matte foundation, my chin and around my smile lines end up looking dry and cakey.

Matte Velvet Skin Blur

Sounds beautiful!  I'll have to put this in my makeup folder to consider next time I'm in the market for foundation.  Thanks!
