If I use a cream shadow on my lids, I feel it! I much prefer powder - that is, when I use shadow at all. Also, when I do use shadow, I do not always put it on my lid, but just above at the crease for a little definition. Powder also to define under my lower lashes.

@Jordan2 wrote:I have several Bobbi Brown cream shadows in the pots and have used the Maybelline ones also. I thought I was a fan of cream shadow, but not so much anymore. I feel the cream shadows don't apply very smoothly to my lids (yes I use an eyelid primer and no my lids aren't wrinkled), I find myself reaching for powder shadows more often.
@Jordan2 I like the Laura Mercier primer (in a neutral color) or Trish McEvoy makes one Eye Eesentials that I can wear alone as shadow. Sometimes I add a neutral powder color in the crease.

@tucsongal wrote:I agree with you. I keep thinking I will find the perfect cream or liquid eyeshadow for a simple wash of color on my lid, but it's always trickier than I want it to be. Since I use a brown powder eyeshadow as my liner, it's much easier to just use a powder on my lids as well.
@tucsongal I do my lid primer, powder shadow, liner & mascara before my concealer and foundation. If there's fallout, easier cleanup under eyes w/ remover & q tip if rest of face isn't done yet.

Plus, I think that applying the latter to my aging eyelids is easier than trying to smooth out a cream.
ITA. Creams seem either too thick, too oily or too dry. Powders are easier for me if it's one w/ saturated color and not a lot of fallout under eyes.

I put a base on first and then powder shadow..... only powder. It lasts ALL DAY on me, and I put in a 19 hour day!

I use colored eyeliner pencils and smudge them out over my lid. They seem to stay a long time and don't fade in color.

I also follow your Lancôme powder shadow regime however I need to use moisturizer before applying it. I have hazel/greenish eyes and the brown palette works fine and lasts forerver🌻. My mascara and kohl are also from Lancôme.

@Jordan2, Powder shadows will last forever and the cream ones I bought from Bobbi Brown will dry out after time. I use shadows on and off and only on the lid lightly. During the summer, I sometimes will not wear mascara but will curl my lashes. It was 90 today and it was originally suppose to be in low 80's. It's more fun to wear shadows in the fall/winter/spring. ![]()

@Jordan2I love Bobbi Brown's cream shadow in the pot. Sometimes I use a thin layer of the cream and top with a powder shadow. In powder eyeshadow, I use Jane Iredale and have for years.
