This may be a silly question but does anyone know if Coppertone smells like it did 60 years ago?  Gosh, that's a long time but when I was a kid I loved Coppertone lotion because of the smell and my Mom always had it on hand because we would stay in the country for a couple of weeks and swim everyday and play outside.  If anyone knows, please share.  Cat Very Happy

@Katcat1 I really don't know, I haven't bought it in awhile, I like the smell of it. You can go to a store, unscrew it and take a whiff.

@Jordan2   I am hoping someone will know so I don't have to do the unscrew cap at the store.  I actually do that with a few things to see if I like the scent.   lol

Why yes, yes it does Smiley Happy  I avoid the sun and heat like a plague but I too love the smell and the memories.  Smells can bring back so many memories Smiley Happy  I have this just to put on my arms ocassionally and pretend I'm a sun worshiper when actually I'm in my 74 degree and breezy house Smiley Happy

@monicakm  Oh yes, memories.  When I got 2nd degrees burns on face, arms and back.  In a lake playing games with my brother and his girlfriend and her brother and I did not realize I was frying.  I was in 7th grade and my mother made me go to school and wear a bra.  I had water blisters all over my back and on my face.  I will never forget that. I no longer worship the sun.  I will stay pale.  Thanks for letting me know.  I have to buy a bottle.  I have a spray that is unscented by alba Botanica.  I use it on my arms and neck for when I am in the car.

I just recently bought some just for the fragrance, Coppertone Tanning SPF 8 Lotion 8 oz. for $6.97 at Amazon.  It says its the same fragrance.  The bottle I got was the old packaging, now its called Coppertone Tanning Defend & Glow.  I get that old Coppertone smell from it, but it seems not as strong to me, but that just could be me.  I tried Bobbi Brown Beach fragrance, but it just wasn't what I was looking for.

I think some Coppertone has that scent, but not all. I think the brown bottle does, but I suggest doing a sniff test.

I love that smell. Also Sea and Ski.

 @sunsetbeach

I tried the Bobbie Brown Beach fragrance a few years ago also when this topic came up.  I sent it back.

OMGosh!  I can't even imagine.  I touched my leg to a boyfriend's side muffler on his car (I think that's what it was).  He had warned me against it several times.  Third degree burn Smiley Surprised  I tuffed it out during the rodeo he was riding in.  Lots of help from people with water and ice packs.  Can't believe it didn't get infected with all the dust at the arena.
