My sister had this done at a local spa. The anesthetist numbed it up with injections and that was all. No significant swelling or anything like that. I have a tat about 6"" in diameter and it didn't swell like that. I just kept Eucerin on it for healing. You will need a good facial moisturizer or you can use Eucerin or whatever doesn't irritate your skin to help with the peeling as it heals.
