Re: Concealer/Color corrector help please 🙏

@LTT1 This is me! I found a video from a reddit link to youtube about telling olive skin clues and I match just about everything about it down to the colors that I wear best. Thank you! I literally teared up. I've never heard of olive skin and makeup being a whole other category. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me!

Re: Concealer/Color corrector help please 🙏

@LTT1 Will do. She is recommending buff shades which is what I've found worked the best on me so far, but she is also showing me better techniques so I will definitely update my skills and makeup. Thank you so much! You made my life!

Impossible to help you on a website. I would go to one of the better department stores and find an expieranced makeup.sales person.

Re: Concealer/Color corrector help please 🙏

Concealer is not intended to be used along with your color corrector

Meaning that is your first step, then your foundation and last your concealer

color corrector will not really conceal but rather correct so when your foundation is applied the skin tone is the same hue in either cool or warm

That seems to be a mistake used if you choose the corrector application

Re: Concealer/Color corrector help please 🙏

Huge thank you to @LTT1 and everyone else who helped me. I literally took your suggestions, watched youtube all weekend, did every virtual makeup try on online, and did a couple makeup hauls to teach my tomboy self how to do makeup.

I learned a lot and took some advice and did my face countless times. I found a combo that isn't perfect under my eyes but it's light years ahead of the crypt keeper mug shot the passport office took of me a week ago.

@LTT1 I am olive! Yellow color corrector works unbelivable wonders for me around my eyes. I mix it with my buff beige concealer shade and a pink brightener and it's light years ahead of what I was doing. No wonder nothing ever worked for me. I have never heard of yellow corrector before let alone for dark circles. Above my eyes it's beautiful and opens my hooded eyes right up.

I also learned about highlighters, what people my age should not use or do anymore, what I should be using that I never have (eyelash curler), and another trick was to use a darker concealer.

I actually found one that's for a person of color, I am not, but if I put it just under my dark circles on my cheekbone, I am gorgeous! It compliments my complexion and draws attention away from my eyes to focus on my bone structure which is my genetic blessing from my great-grandmother.

There are a lot of things I am grateful for on this board. The helpful strangers who took time out of their lives to make mine better for a skill I should already have at my age, but didn't, I love. ❤️

Thank you all so very much. I will feel like a new, much more confident person when I walk into work tomorrow.

@Laura14 @katie1859 @ellaphant @wagirl @FranandZoe

I just read something else endorsed by the "olive-toned girls"!
There is a blue (!) concealer by elf

that they are saying to add a drop or two to your foundation (only if you are olive toned) and this will automatically give you a perfect shade!

@Laura14

You mentioned Cover Girl, so I will post that I use a CG concealer that I have used for years which is in a tube and it is called CG Smoothers.  It doesn't come in a ton of colors so I don't know if any of them would be suitable for you.  However, it does provide good coverage and the price is great.  You could purchase a coule different shades and always return one that isn't right.

Re: Concealer/Color corrector help please 🙏

Color correction as nothing but another thick layer under the eye

The dimension of these do help other face discoloration but your under eye

skin is thin and sensitive

Foundation then concealer is sufficient

Generally to conceal fine veins and a dark impression which will be lightened by concealer

A good foundation will adjust color tones so backtrack steps and start with the right tone and coverage then a concealer one shade lighter.
