"A warm peach with a pearl finish."
"A brighter, medium pink-coral with a golden shimmer."
Still on sale at Walgreens, 2 for $4.
At first glance, the apricot is more of a "dirty peach" while the pink is quite frightening. Once on the face, they settle down considerably.
I noticed the "shimmer" of the pink looked more like silver glitter, but eventually that disappeared. I still have no idea where it went.

Wouldn't it be fun to create an Easter basket with drugstore cosmetics and tools?
If anyone had a teenage daughter, niece or granddaughter, that would be a fun project.
Unfortunately, most of the young girls I know want the high-end stuff.

just bee - The young girls want the high end stuff, until they have to start paying for it.

@just bee, I agree. That would be a nice basket, however, I think youtube and all of its glory has ruined that for the most part. I think drugstore products have really improved but these days seem to be all about the luxury. Most times the feel of the packaging of the luxury brands is just so much nicer. ....not always but.....

I will say, I do miss having new products to play with. But, when I look at my makeup collection, everything is barely touched. I dont wear mu everyday and when I do it is really with a light touch.
I was excited to hit pan on my Joan Rivers touch up powder. I use this consistenty for grays and that even took a long time. So now, I pick up powder in that spot so I can expand it. I was just so excited to see pan in something.
I am conflicted, my hg powder foundation has been laura geller's balance n brighten. Ulta had it for a good sale price but I didnt pick one up. I figured I still have a lot left in the one I am using now and I have other powder foundations to use up as well so I didnt want it to sit around for a year or two before I can get to it. But, I am not sure if it will be discontinued. But, then again, if it is no point in fighting it, right? I guess I will find something else. This is just so easy to use. Oh well, I am set for a long while anyway.
I didnt even claim a beauty no buy this year and it is funny how I am doing better than previous years. I have been tempted and close but I make myself think through it. Doesnt mean I wont buy something but using my collection more, I just realize no matter which palette I use, except for my colorful ones, my looks are all the same - neutral. Most of my palettes are boring. Maybe I need to bring in my colorful ones more. It is just hard in the morning because I dont have time for do overs.
I often wonder how I managed to buy all of these neutral palettes. Basically the same color scheme with a pop of color. oy vey Can anyone say "hype?"
Anyway, not first world problems for sure, just some light banter. It is funny I almost miss talking about products.

Hype! ![]()
I have to admit I enjoyed ordering some new blushes and shadows, but I'm still using up the old e.l.f. eyeshadow and LG blush!
I probably could have pushed out that purchase for a few more months.
Silliness.

@just bee, it gave you some treats to play with at a great sale price so it was a nice little pick me up. It also gave me a perk. ![]()
I cant say I wont buy any color cosmetics this year but right now I have so much and that is even after I decluttered my collection. I was actually going to give some away but I have decided to just enjoy it and it helps me not fill an empty space.
I do enjoy using it in the morning. I just have to remember to throw in some colorful eyeshadows. Even then my looks are neutral but at least it will be a change from the normal browns and champagnes.
I will say though, I am not sure what I was thinking when I bought all of my brushes. Sheesh. While I did get rid of some I cant seem to bring myself to part with any of them. And I think it is because most of them are barely used.
So are you happy with all of the makeup items you purchased?
Am I the ony one dreaming of retirement??

True, the price was right. And I'll have these shadows and blushes for as long as I'm able to use them.
So I guess I'm happy with them. There's something about color that lifts the spirit. I see that screaming pink blush and want to giggle. I just have to remember to be careful with it because I don't really want others to giggle. A little goes a long way.
About retirement...
It has crossed my mind. But it might not mean stopping work but rather changing work.
Something to think about.

Well, the weather got warm here and I started getting out the new clothes I bought for spring and summer. All I can say is, “What was I thinking?!” Once again I let myself be influenced by outsiders. Different styles, different colors than I usually wear. The reason I have a closet full of virtually the same things is because that’s what I like and so that’s what I end up wearing. Just because somebody else says I should be wearing something else is no reason to do so.
Like, “As you get older, you need color or you’ll look washed out.” I never wear color and I do look washed out, not that I’ve ever minded looking that way. But I went ahead and bought a red t-shirt. I looked like I was wearing a neon sign. All I could see when I looked in the mirror was RED! I had totally disappeared.
Ok. So I figured I had gone a little overboard with the red. I tried on the pale pink shirt. That washed me out more than my ever-loved plain white one.
I give up. I’m wearing what I feel comfortable with and I don’t care what anybody else thinks. After all, I have to pay for it all. 💸

The last time I bought something that I thought I was supposed to be wearing?
Two pairs of capri pants. Do I wear capris? Will I ever wear capris?
Uh, no.
Life was simpler when my sister and mother dressed me. But I felt like I was the only girl in junior and senior high who didn't own a halter top.
One day I asked why and my sister looked at me and said:
"Because you have too much to halt."
Didn't ask again.
Sometimes another's opinion is helpful.
