That was a photo I pulled from the Internet -- everybody was taking pictures of it this morning.  What I saw from my front door was actually more impressive -- but it dawned on me too late to try to get a photo.  That's what keeps me from selling the house and moving.  We live at the top of a steep hill and I have an unobstructed view of the city, the bosque and the Sandias.

Two more good ones!

Aprilskies, every year I say the same thing: It just doesn't feel like Christmas.  I wait for the spirit to kick in and it doesn't happen.  Then all of a sudden something just does it for me.

This year is different.  I put the wreath on the door back in November and I'll send out cards next week.  I'm actually enjoying this season.

Yes, I think this may be part of the reason. I use to decorate and the last few years, I really havent. Maybe I need to pull some decorations out.

Okey, dokey, ComPacters.  Here are a few of my favorite Christmas songs in no special order.

O Holy Night

We Need a Little Christmas

Where Are You Christmas

Do You Hear What I Hear

Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Neil Diamond's version is my favorite.)

A Baby Changes Everything (Faith Hill)

Let It Snow!  Let It Snow!  Let It Snow! (Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme)

The Little Drummer Boy

O Come, All Ye Faithful

Hark!  The Herald Angels Sing

Angels We Have Heard on High

Winter Wonderland

All I Want for Christmas is You

Christmas Don't Be Late (Alvin and the Chipmunks) - Yes, I don't like Santa Baby (especially when Madonna sings Chwismas instead of Christmas), but I can listen to the Chipmunks.

And pretty much anything else from Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, or Dean Martin.

Paws and enjoy life.

Neil Diamond!  My high school crush!  The first in-person concert I ever went to was Neil Diamond--front row seats.  I was in heaven for two weeks!

(I like the Chipmunks, too!  "AL-VIN!  O-kay."  That record was played over and over until it was too scratchy to hear anymore.)

Another Christmas song I really like is

Baby, It's Cold Outside with Dean Martin.

I love Neil Diamond.

Neil

Dosey girl...

Neil

You there, Dosey girl?

Neil

This one's just for you...

Cracklin' Dosey, get on board
We're gonna ride ‘til there ain't no more to go
Taking it slow
Lord, don't you know
Have made me a time with a poor man's lady

Hitchin' on a twilight train
Ain't nothing there that I care to take along
Maybe a song
To sing when I want
Don't need to say please to no man for a happy tune

Oh, I love my Dosey child
She got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style
Cracklin' Doze, you're a store-bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin'
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin' on

Play it now
Play it now, my baby

Cracklin' Dosey, make me a smile
Girl if it lasts for an hour, that's all right
We got all night
To set the world right
Find us a dream that don't ask no questions, yeah

Oh, I love my Dosey child
You got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style

Cracklin' Doze, you're a store-bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin'
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin' on

Play it now
Play it now
Play it now, my baby

Cracklin' Dosey, make me a smile
God if it lasts for an hour, that's all right
We got all night
To set the world right
Find us a dream that don't ask no questions, yeah…

Neil

Yeah...
