Baby, It's Cold Outside with Dean Martin.
I love Neil Diamond.
I've heard this song twice this week!

Dosey girl...
You there, Dosey girl?
This one's just for you...
Cracklin' Dosey, get on board
We're gonna ride ‘til there ain't no more to go
Taking it slow
Lord, don't you know
Have made me a time with a poor man's lady
Hitchin' on a twilight train
Ain't nothing there that I care to take along
Maybe a song
To sing when I want
Don't need to say please to no man for a happy tune
Oh, I love my Dosey child
She got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style
Cracklin' Doze, you're a store-bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin'
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin' on
Play it now
Play it now, my baby
Cracklin' Dosey, make me a smile
Girl if it lasts for an hour, that's all right
We got all night
To set the world right
Find us a dream that don't ask no questions, yeah
Oh, I love my Dosey child
You got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in styleCracklin' Doze, you're a store-bought woman

Yeah...
My dream has come true! A famous singer has written a song about me. I have chills.

Good news! My MIL is sending me another box. Japanese and Chinese plates and a vase. Mr. Brownpants should deliver the large box this week. It is our Christmas gift.

Some of these are amazing. I suspect they won't be the ones coming your way. ![]()

This is the era. That hair--(I think he wears a toupee now), those shirts...
It's funny what we think is cool at various times in our lives. I was thinking about the different singers I've liked over my lifetime: first it was Tennesse Ernie Ford, then The Everly(sp?) Brothers, various folk singers like Peter, Paul and Mary, Paul Revere and the Raiders, then starting in high school Sandler and Young (who was old enough to be my father), Neil Diamond after them, and I think Toby Keith was my last "crush". Eclectic group when looked at collectively. Now I rarely listen to any music.
I do like the artistic liberties you took with these lyrics, bee. Very clever of you!

Paul Revere & the Raiders? Now we're talkin'. Mark Lindsay. Kicks. Young men in tights...
All dark and broody...
And broodier...

Thought it would be a good time to toss in a photo of Peter O'Toole...

Have you seen the commercial where the girl is excited about being accepted into a college and all her father hears is, "I've been accepted into the most expensive school in the country!" Well, this happens. My wonderful son has been accepted into Presbyterian College. It is the third most expensive school in SC. He has been awarded some scholarships, but we still have a pretty penny to pay. This is not his first choice, but he is super happy. His first choice is Furman. It is THE most expensive school in SC. The kid has good taste. DS has also applied to some more affordable state schools. I use the term affordable only because I am comparing the tuition at a state school to the tuition at a private school. They are all expensive. I really am happy for him. Can't wait to see who else accepts him.
I finished two foundations, a shampoo, and a small body moisturizer. You know, it's a good thing I have been ComPacting. I'll be taking ComPacting to a new level when my kids are in college!
The traffic in the shopping areas is awful! I tried Christmas shopping yesterday around noon, but the traffic kept me from getting to all of the places on my list. I try to shop locally as much as possible, but Amazon is looking more attractive to me.
Another great Christmas song -
Jingle Bells by The Brian Setzer Orchestra

Congrats to the kid! He has a big decision to make. I looked at these schools online -- very attractive! Glad I don't have to choose!
And yes -- Brian Setzer is great!
