Am I right? Lizards with feathers. (Baby egrets are adorable.)

Okay, I take it back: These guys are just so ridiculous looking that they're cute. Yep, lizards with feathers--and sharp beaks!

Almost like baby dinosaurs with fuzzy mold growth.

Why am I seeing Phyllis Diller?

Or do you see Carol Channing?

{#emotions_dlg.lol} Should we call two of them Carol and Phyllis? Who does the third bird remind anyone of?

The week had its ups and downs. Before the rain arrived, I planted 96 small flowering plants in the flower bed in my front yard. I cannot wait for them to grow and fill in the entire bed. I also planted three tomato plants in the backyard. I am tired of the flavorless tomatoes in the stores.

The kids and I volunteered at a nonprofit thrift store. Our first duty was to go through boxes of shoes, pair them up, and put them on the shelves. The manager is a man, and he asked me to let him know if I find any good shoes because they are priced slightly higher. He thought that since I am a woman, I would know shoes. Indeed I do! Most of the shoes were off brands but in good condition. Then, what did my eyes see? Not one, but two pairs of Ferragamo shoes! Made in Italy. I could not believe it. They were not new but were in great shape. I showed them to the manager, and he did not share my excitement. He was going to look them up on his phone to get an idea of how to price them. A few minutes later, he said that he looked up Ferragamo shoes. Then, he said wow and shook his head. Some lucky woman with small feet is going to be so happy!!

The school year is coming to an end. A very busy end. There are so many activities taking place and not just on weekdays. Saturdays and evenings, too! When I feel overwhelmed, I'll watch the bird cams.

Paws and enjoy life.

The birds have better 'hair'.

I almost forgot. I did not buy anything when Manuela from Isomers was on. That is a victory for me. Evine has been offering some nice products lately from different vendors. It has been tough resisting, but so far, so good. The thread about Borghese mud masks nearly did me in. The ladies on this board are just as convincing as the vendors and show hosts!!

Me either. I couldnt even entertain the thought. I am immersed. lol, yes, those Borghese threads almost had me too. Those ladies and their enthusiasm are hard to resist. I just wish I saw the same results sometimes. Although, it has recently become clear to me, I need to turn off all advertising. If I am not ordering one thing, it's another and things I never knew existed but all of a sudden need. I am such a lemming. Who knew.

Geezerette -- have I posted the bird cam addresses here? I can't remember. In case I haven't, these are my current addictions.

There are others, but this is a good start.

The eagle (mom or dad?) is having lunch with the babies right now. Looks like part of a fish. Ewwww!
I watched that one too up until she starting pulling out bloody strings of stuff. Uh, ewww. No thank you. Did you catch one of the babies trying to fly? Not yet little guy. Too cute.

No, I did not. When the babies move too close to the edge of the nest, I get nervous.

Me, too! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

By flying , just meant flapping its winds in attempt. Little thing was still in the middle of the nest. That would get me too. Although, it would be cool to watch.

You have been much more productive than moi. I almost caved and bought some geraniums but I'm glad I waited. There's a winter storm north of us so temperatures have been really nice. Chilly, some would say, but I think it's perfect when it gets like this. It was cool enough to take the dog to the petroglyphs today. Night temps can still dip around this time of year so I have to remind myself to sit on my hands. It can be warm for weeks, then snow in late April. I made that mistake last year when I bought ladybugs and suddenly it was like winter again. Bad news for the bugs.

I've been after Better-half to act and he's finally showing some interest in a vegetable garden. I think containers or raised beds would work and that he should start with tomatoes and peppers. We'll see what happens. He's currently researching and exploring options.

Thrift stores are fascinating because you can find bargain-priced treasures there. I used to go to one in California that routinely carried cashmere sweaters from Scotland at giveaway prices while cotton sweaters were marked higher. Even if you point it out, they'll explain that the cashmere is not a big seller. True, taking care of wool can be an effort, but... well, it's odd.

So I have been wanting to make a hair oil -having hair issues-and thought I should pick up a ketchup type dispenser to make application easier. I did find one at Walmart, but, sheesh, was it flimsy so I didn't get it. Not that I need a fancy dispenser but maybe one that when I hold it, it doesn't fold like a cheap umbrella. So, I put it on the list. Today, I needed something from under my bathroom cabinet and started pulling things out and what do you know, I found a new hair color dispenser that I could use. Then, I wanted to buy a spray bottle because I want to make a mister, no, not a man, a refreshing spray, so what do I find an empty bottle from Jonathan Products, remember him, that I will clean and use. So, all that to say, we buy and save these things for when we need them, but then, when we need them we go and buy them again. So, I didn't add to the clutter in my cabinet or my to do list. moral of this long story, look before you buy.
