FLASHBACK!!! I stored all my "secrets" in my Sucrets boxes!!! Where do you think I kept my pennies when I was a kid?

I kept mine in a maraschino cherries jar.

After deciding that the jar was not very cool, I transferred my wealth to a Band-Aid tin.

... Band Aid Johnson and Johnson Sheer Strips Bandaid Metal Tin Container

My cousin did not like the tin, so she gave me some decals made specifically for covering Band-Aid tins. They were green and yellow. We poked holes in the lid, put a yellow hair ribbon through the holes, and tied the ends to secure in place. The tin was transformed into a purse. Those were the days. I miss tin containers. Must be why I like cinnamon Altoids.

Paws and enjoy life.

OMG -- I was going to say that! Do kids keep their pennies in Altoids tins today? But then I realized that kids today are different and they probably don't save pennies.

I still save jars and I have tins all over the house! I have the tins I bought in college in the 70s. And my stepfather gave me tins his mother collected that were probably from the 40s. Still have those -- they're in my kitchen. I have a preserves jar I bought in college, too.

I can't believe I'm admitting this!!! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

ORC! ORC!!!

Bee, you're so quick and creative. You always make me laugh with your little graphics.

I have been working on what I shall call The Lipstick Project this evening. It's a grueling task, not for the faint of heart. I have lipsticks at two different houses, in my desk drawer at work, and in various purses and gym bag pockets. More than anything else, lipsticks are my downfall. I am never without one within reach. I collected all of the lipsticks from one set of bathroom drawers, gym bag, and purses. I created a spreadsheet of them by brand, and for each tube I noted the amount that was used up or left in the bullet. Then I segregated them into Desirables and Undesirables.

I took the Undesirables and put them on the tea towel along with other makeup I use daily. I am going to try to use these things up between now and June 1. What is left by that time will be tossed unless I have had a drastic change of heart. Right now, there are thirteen Undesirables - things that are glosses, are too light and so I have to mix them with something else, or are just plain outside my color range. The outside color range lipsticks are two that I purchased when I decided to jump on the "nude lip" bandwagon (and jumped off it right away). There are also several half-used lip liners in that assortment, and using them up should be pretty easy.

I set five of the nearly finished Desirables aside, and plan to put those in my clutch purses as needed, depending upon what color I need on a particular day. The rest of the Desirables went in a perfume gift box and will find a home in dark corner of the closet right now, and in the file cabinet in the basement when warm weather arrives.

I'm only half done, haven't cataloged the Bobbi Brown lip palettes, and I am well over twenty pieces. I won't need to buy a single lipstick ever again in my life. Good grief.

Oooooo, ooooooo, Not even February yet and we're planning a project. I love it, and yes, a small room or closet to start. Smallest in my house is the bathroom. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} and at least it is a project we won't have to end up putting in DD & BP closet. ( "doomed, dead and buried projects" ) Make your list Just Bee, and please count me in.

Just Bee, I have 2 Altoid tins in my purse right now. One for headache powders and one for supplements. They make great storage tins. I think I buy altoids for the tins. And at the risk of dating myself, Ive had a couple if tins in my purse for 20 years!

I think Im going to start in Feb with my office. I can keep a piece of paper until it changes colors. It will be like a trip back in time. Whoever came up with this project Thank you. I needed a swift kick to get me started.

Count me in for the one room a month club! Still holding strong with the no buy, but really just want to buy something! I don't need anything, but that doesn't seem to matter. Trying to hold strong. Finished a sample of hope in a jar night last night. Wasn't a fan so on to the next moisturizer.

Count me in with the one room a month club. I will start with my granddaughter/guest room. My sister will be visiting from California March 8th, but if we are still in the grips of this cold winter, she may change her mind. Those of you not familiar with FLYLADY.net, you may want to check it out. In 1999, she started her de-cluttering project with one other person on a message board. In one month she was helping 110 people. Now I believe she has over a half million people that subscribe to her emails.

I couldn't get past the sink-cleaning thing! But a lot of the ladies here do visit her site. Good tips there. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}
