FindingMyJoy,

I'm in tears reading about Charlie, hugs to you.

I do have a furbaby, an 11 year old Calico cat named Cinder. I'll give her an extra snuggle from you and Charlie.

I'll be 55 in October... and I was just on steepster.com this morning. Either we're related or one of us is a pod person.

justbee, I'll be 55 mid-May. I think we are pod people. LOL

My furbaby Charlie died on Saturday. He had been ill for the last month and didn't respond to the antibiotics. I knew the end was coming and he appears to have moved on peacefully. I had him for over 4 years. So I knew his likes and dislikes very well....didn't stop me from buying new treats at the petstore when I went to buy his regular food. I would be all excited thinking maybe he will like this treat....try it....nope he had NO desire to eat it at all. Play things were the same thing. He already had a couple things he adored and felt no need to try new things. But instead of returning or throwing away the unwanted/unused stuff -- I put it away in a box that I found after his death. I have to say it made me laugh. I had a stash of "maybe he'll use it some day" items. Never thought my stash abilities went with my pet too lol. I could learn alot following his example of using just what I like and putting on blinders to new stuff. Anyone with a furbaby at home - please give them an extra snuggle for me! Cherish the time you have with them.

Something for you to read.

I also lost my furbaby in Nov. He was an English Bulldog and would have been 11 in February. I had him since he was 8 weeks old. He snuggled with me in my bed and for some reason I slept better. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer and we had to make the excruciating decision to end his suffering.

I have a very clingy needy cat, a silly bratty yet clingy sharpie and a easy-going red nose pit that still believes he is a lap dog. I love them all dearly but miss my Cujo everyday. So I totally understand your pain. I also applaud you for looking for all the little things he taught you.

I'd hoped you'd see it. We go through this and we tell ourselves we'll never do it again. But we do, because we must.

For those asking about tea, try the Kroger Private Selection Brand. They put it on sale quite often and I think it is delicious. My favorite is the Passion Fruit and Papaya Black Tea. I couldn't find it a couple of times and actually panicked that it was being discontinued so when I did find it, I bought several boxes. I never tire of it.

I never cared for any of the green teas out there until I tried the Twinings Gunpowder Green Tea. The leaves are rolled into little balls and they unfurl when steeped. Be sure and leave lots of room for the leaves to do so. Every green tea I had ever tried before made me a little sick to my stomach for some unknown reason but this one doesn't do that and it tastes wonderful.

You can find lots of unique and delicious teas at T.J. Maxx also. Just remember to steer clear of the beauty aisles !!!!!!

Thank you!

Unfortunately I am in a wheelchair and cannot shop at either location because I need an attendant and my new living situation does not offer that.

I have to purchase on-line and have yet to find a site selling Kroger products or TJM (though we do have a local store, I just can't get there)

I think I would go crazy (okay CRAZIER) if I didn't have at least one furbaby! No, it isn't easy when they are gone, but I wouldn't trade the fun, unconditional love, and memories to save myself the pain. Brings to mind Garth Brooks "The Dance" "I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance..." I so enjoyed the dance!

Hi Just Bee,

An update on what we were talking about earlier in this thread.

On Monday I got a weird call from one of my other doctors, who talked to the doc whose office called and told me there was no hope.

This doc talked to the other doc and he says what his office said is not true and there are 2 options for treatment that still may occur.

Now I don't know who to trust.

Why would his office call and tell me there were no options and then he tell my other doc, neither of whom want me to follow through with my plan, and say it wasn't true.

I will be glad if something can be worked out, but I think someone is actually lying and I don't know who.

Hi, all! A week into the no buy and I have not fallen off the wagon. There has been temptation. I watched a LORAC show and wanted everything. The foundation, the set of two lip glosses that were only $20, the 12-hour blush with a brush. Then, I reminded myself of the ComPact and that I was only going to purchase color cosmetics in person because of the numerous times I have been disappointed. Those hosts sure can make things sound fantastic!

Now that I am not buying, websites have become even more tempting. I look at Ulta and Sephora because I know if I see something that I like, I can go to the store and look at it. So far, I have not gone to the stores. Why does a $49 eyeshadow palette interest me? $49 is a lot of money!

Dperry, if you ever find a dup for DHC's White Sunscreen, let me know. That is my all-time favorite sunscreen. When it goes on sale, I buy a few bottles. My DD uses it, too.

SpaGal, I'm happy your dad is doing better and at home. It will be much easier when your parents are closer to you.

FindingMyJoy, I'm sorry about losing Charlie. I hope you feel better very soon. You are right about learning something from animals. I have saved things that belonged to my pets. Brushes, collars, bandannas. My first dog died when I was a child. I was very upset and decided to save some of her fur. So I went around the house, collected any little hairs I could find, and put them in a Sucrets box. That box is with other childhood stuff in my attic. I cannot throw it away. Weird, I know. My BFF decided that she was tired of all the stuff she had, so she purged in a major way. Now, her attic is empty! I am so jealous.

Two lip glosses will be history very soon. Also, I read recently that used liquid foundations should be thrown away after six months. In the winter, I usually use a tinted moisturizer (Lumene BB) and rarely use a foundation. It would be nice to have one on hand. Now, I need to decide which one to keep. My summer foundations are different, so I am going to focus on winter foundations. Why am I making this so hard?

Paws and enjoy life.

Findingmyjoy, sorry to hear about your Charlie. They are a joy. That's a big lesson we can all learn from him. Enjoy what you really like and leave the rest. Love it.
