Re: ComPact 2014 – February

I think I saved my favorites to use last, because I enjoyed looking at them, and opening the bottle just to smell them. I love opening my drawers and seeing just my favorite products.

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Day 41 of not buying anything non-essential. I joke that I could set up a small store from goodies on hand but my stash is not that large compared to many. My goal is to use up my stash and then buy when half way through the last item such as shampoo, etc. I worked today so I didn't spend any time on a room at home.

Hello! I have been following all the progress with the no-buy January, February and ORC. I did not participate in the january no-buy because I knew I would need to replace a few hair products, but I am now buying mindfully, rather than impulsively and am happy with that progress!

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Batten down the hatches. Pax is a comin'!! We are prepared for what could be 9 - 12" of snow. Yikes! South Carolina gets snow but not this much.

I've made a little progress with the ORC but have more to do. February will be half over this weekend, so I'd better get busy.

DH surprised me and went through his side of the closet. He said some of his clothes were very old (true), and others had "shrunk" (hmmm). He gets an A for doing a great job, including trying on many clothes. DH threw out several things that were too worn to donate. He also made a pile of clothes that could be donated. I am going to go through it tomorrow to make sure nothing is stained or torn. Now, he needs a few really nice dress shirts. DH works in the corporate office now, and his coworkers wear very nice business attire. Before corporate, he worked in the plants and wore khakis and casual shirts. We are planning on going to the mall this weekend. Hopefully, the snow will be gone by then. The last time it snowed a foot here, we were homebound for a week because it stayed cloudy and cold.

Until next time, ComPact on!

Paws and enjoy life.

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Dosey-I hope you stay safe during this time. I am SO over winter here!

I bought a jar of Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser to try as a nighttime makeup remover to replace my Albolene. We'll see how it works, I still have a little of the Albolene left. I'm really getting over all the skincare and makeup hype and I just want to go back to the basics. I was going to try Paula's choice, but I wanted something that I could just buy at the store and not have to order online, so I bought the Ponds to try, and I had a coupon, so it was less than $5. Hopefully it will work

I've been using Pond's Clarant B3 as a daily moisturizer and I like it. Hope this works for you. (Cheap and effective = a good thing.)

My grandmother used Pond's cold cream as a facial cleanser her whole life and had markedly wrinkle-free, youthful skin well into her 60's and never had deep wrinkles (she lived until her 80's) Smiley Happy

And my mother always talked about her "crazy" aunt who'd sit at the kitchen table every night with a bottle of olive oil. Flawless skin.

If you can eat it, why can't you wear it?

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

A whole month to work on one room sure seemed like plenty of time but I have not gotten much accomplished yet.

Way too much business & stress lately. I have realized that the more stress & "stuff" I have to deal with the less work I seem interested in doing at home. That is due to change this weekend. I'm going to work on letting the negativity slide off my back & down the street. That will leave lots of positive, energetic vibes for my ORC!

Unless there is something unexpected in the next two weeks, like winning the lottery or my apartment being destroyed by a natural disaster, I will make it through the month with no unnecessary/unplanned purchases at all. That is across the board, not just beauty & clothing. I have no patience right now for anything that might tempt me. ...OK, I have no patience for anything or anyone right now! I need a long vacation on a deserted island! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}
