Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions. I think new makeup and haircut are in order since I am white and gray (back) totally. It is what it is I guess. The consensus was make changes!

I think deciding to go grey also depends on hair texture. My hair is quite curly so when I began going grey many years ago, it all blended together. Now my hair is almost all silver and I get many more compliments that I did when it was a medium brown color.

It does take a couple of hours out of my weekend once a month, but it's well worth it for the final look. I don't find gray hair attractive on most people, certainly not myself.

I am in my early seventies and love my gray/white long hair (trimmed/layered every three months). When I went to my fifieth reunion at a large H.S. almost all the ladies had gone gray or white. Beyond a certain point, most treated hair is aging (before I hit the bullet I was coloring every two weeks). I am a size ten, and dress fashionably for someone my age and my DH loves my look (especially hair) so in the end that is all that matters.

No, I haven't but I keep having a reocurring dream that I dye my hair and it turns out horrible and I hate it!! Isn't that funny? I'm not sure why I keep having this dream. I have no desire to color it. It's been two years this month. I'm almost fully transitioned (I have long hair.) Maybe you could get some lowlights just to add some warmth. That way you wouldn't have to be a slave to monthly coloring.

@TX-starlightwrote:I did once & regretted coloring it again. I finally got it grown off again & will never dye it again. I have dreamed several times, that I colored again & was so mad at myself for doing it,lol..... Thankfully I do have a nice shade of gray/silver, no yellow.
Me too!! That's so funny! I never did color it after I grew it out and am very happy with mine so I'm not sure why I am having these dreams. That is intersting to hear someone else has the same dreams!

@Snowpuppywrote:I don't think going gray is a one size fits all decision. It depends.
I have a co worker who stopped coloring but she is 100% gray and looks stunning all gray. I stopped coloring for about 6 months and it looked terrible.
I'm only 10% gray but worse is my natural hair color is drab. No amount of face makeup was going to make my hair look better so back to the colorist I went.
I look so much better that I feel better.
This is so true. I was a colorist for years and there aren't a whole bunch of people who actually have a beautiful gray/silver color OR the skin coloring to pull it off. My daughters grandmother has one of the most stunning colors of silver and just an absolute perfect skin tone to go with it. She doesn't look washed out one bit. I actually talked her into letting her gray grow out. She asked me if I thought she would look older and to tell you the truth, gray hair does make one look a bit older, even if it is a beautiful gray/silver. I did like the hair color we were coloring her hair but I thought her silver was just too beautiful to color, even if it did make her a bit older. She gets compliments all of the time and while it did take her a little longer to embrace it, she is now happy she let it go gray.
The majority of the population just does not get that beautiful gray and even with adjusted make up and it can really make some people look really washed out and pull all the color from your face. This is such an individual opinion and each person should do what they feel comfortable with.

@santorini You might be surprised. I was a natural DARK brown (almost blk), when I started coloring my hair, I went for red/auburn. Sine I have gone gray, I have had more compliments on my natural hair than I ever had as a redhead. Sometimes I would alternate every yr or going from auburn, back to dark brown.
