Has anyone let their hair grow in Gray and then 2 years later coloring again? I am really on the fence this gray hair seems to wash my complexion out and I think makes it look thinner as I have always had fine flat hair. Anyone?

I did once & regretted coloring it again. I finally got it grown off again & will never dye it again.  I have dreamed several times, that I colored again & was so mad at myself for doing it,lol..... Thankfully I do have a nice shade of gray/silver, no yellow.

Yes I let it grow out and left it alone for about a year. I started coloring again and will do the roots once a month. Not burdensome yet.

Why don't you change your makeup and clothing to complement your gray hair?

I have been doing that. I have white in the front and light and dark gray in the back. I think I might be sorry.

I am so confused about what to do about my hair.  I color it myself, a "natural" color of reddish blonde (ginger?).  I was thinking about letting it go gray , so I let the roots grow out a bit to ask my stylist about having her do highlights of the gray to aid the growing out.  It would be extra $$$ for her, since she only cuts my hair and I color at home. She told me that my "gray" was mostly WHITE! So now I'm back to coloring...

My hair is naturally white, and at one point, for about six months, I had it platinum, but just didn't like it, so I had the colorist make it a light blonde.  Many people told me I look so much better with some color.  And, I personally think that grey or white hair makes a person look older.  Of course, its always a personal choice.  To each their own.

I don't think going gray is a one size fits all decision. It depends.

I have a co worker who stopped coloring but she is 100% gray and looks stunning all gray. I stopped coloring for about 6 months and it looked terrible.

I'm only 10% gray but worse is my natural hair color is drab. No amount of face makeup was going to make my hair look better so back to the colorist I went.

I look so much better that I feel better.

I tried growing out my hair. It looked like a rat gray tone. Horrible!  I love the platinum gray that I see on some ladies. So I am waiting a few years and will try to grow it out again. There is nothing wrong with going gray, but you have to feel good about it.
