Re: Collagen Recommendations

I avoid all seafood and fish from Asia (where most Tilapia come from) and I avoid Andrew Lessman because his supplements are way above amounts of what I want to take or need to take, and his prices are above what I'd pay for most of it as well.

@Shelbelle   Have you ever used Ancient Nutrition?

No, I use capsules made by Nurtiflair or Nutrivein, and I use no tipapia in my collagen only wild caught fish.

Agree, Lessman uses tilapia in his marine collagen, he should know better, I dont use his products either.

Revisiting an older discussion on Collagen.

I was watching Try Me Tuesday last night and Ancient Nutrition Collegan,A672058, was on .  Has anyone tried this brand?  If so  do you like it?

@MrsCat21 This has been a staple for me after trying several different brands. It has all essential amino acids. I get mine from amazon.

I've been using this for some time and I like it.  I usually get it when they do a sale on their website, buy 2 get 1 free, but there are other sales out there. If you want to try one container, the Vitacost sale might be a good way to go.

Re: Collagen Recommendations

@FLGators  I recently purchased the product you referred to, Ancient Nutrition Collegan.  I'd first saw good reviews about it on Amazon and ordered it - then the next day, saw it reviewed in depth on QVC .  I've used it 2 days so far, it does mix well with whatever you are drinking with no taste.

Terranics Multi Collagen Peptides Powder, Type I II III V X Hydrolyzed Collagen

From Amazon has worked great! They recently removed the Biotin from it which makes me happy, I don't like to take biotin every day, I cycle it in a couple times a week.

Re: Collagen Recommendations

Hello everyone. Thank you for all the advice on all things beauty. I have learned so much. On the subject of protein powder I really need to step I my game. At 67 years old I can’t get away with the things I did when I was younger. I read about concerns of getting too much Biotin. Biotin is a water soluble vitamin in the B vitamin family. Since it’s water soluble your body uses what it needs and then the access is eliminated through your urine. Fat soluble vitamins are what a person has to be concerned about taking too much. The extra is stored in our body and can be unhealthy if taking more then recommended. Vitamin E and A are fat soluble. I’m not sure if there are more. But most supplements are water soluble so if taken more than recommended amount results in expensive urine. I hope I haven’t offended anyone. But I learned this in a nutrition class I took a little while ago. Again thank you to all for your recommendations of products good and bad.

I see I made a couple of mistakes in the words I used. Please excuse.
