I have owned a Clarisonic for over 5 years and love it. It removes makeup really well and I feel that is helps reduce the size of my pores. I have oily skin with no broken capillaries. I'm intriqued by the Foreo Luna because it does not need new brush heads and seems less prime to carry bacteria. But I can't see how the rubber bristles could remove makeup as well as the Clarisonic. Can anyone who has used both let me know if they feel the Clarisonic does a better job cleaning off foundation/makeup and leaving skin clean? I'm not as interested in the "face massage" aspect of the Foreo. I just want something to clean makeup off of my skin. Thank you!

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

I just used the Foreo Luna for the first time last night. My Clarisonic has given me broken capillaries (even with the sensitive brush head.) I like the Foreo because it doesn't harbor bacteria like the Clarisonic and it is easy to just leave in the shower. In terms of cleaning ability? I don't know yet, but I'll let you know in a few days....

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

It really boils down to what you choose to believe. They're both made with sonic technology. In my limited understanding and in layman's terms, they both "vibrate" the dirt and impurities from below the surface of the skin and bring them to the surface to get washed away. I used a Clarisonic dupe and ended up with broken capillaries. I've been using a Foreo Luna since June (often twice daily) with no adverse reaction. If you have oily skin, you might consider using a good cleansing oil to help stabilize that.

Here's a press release that explains how the Foreo Luna Mini works:

MEDIA ALERT: For Immediate Release

FOREO Claims ‘Everyone can Date-Ready in Just 1-

Minute’ With The Worldwide Launch of the LUNA™ mini!

Stockholm: FOREO, the Swedish company currently launching its innovative new skincare devices across 30 global markets, has announced the arrival of it’s a third remarkable facial-cleansing device , the revolutionary T-Sonic™ LUNA™ mini. The launch of LUNA™ mini also marks a new chapter in the beauty industry, where FOREO has discovered an untapped potential of sonic-cleansing brushes. “The LUNA™ mini is revolutionary in the fact that it goes to the very foundation of your skincare routine - showing it’s less about what cleanser you use, but how you cleanse that counts! Our hands can only do so much when it comes to washing our faces, but the LUNA™ mini will bring consumers results they’ve only ever dreamt of,” says FOREO’s Global Brand Manager Teun Hanegraaf.

Targeting fashionable young adults, the LUNA™ mini’s sleek Swedish design, bright colors and practical benefits promise immediate appeal with the following advantages:

• The inclusion of T-Sonic™ technology directs up to 8,000 pulses per minute across the skin’s surface, while the silicone brush surfaces cleanse deeply and gently without the abrasive rotary scouring of conventional sonic devices.

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

I have a Clarisonic Plus and a Foreo Luna Mini and they each have their pros and cons. The unfortunate thing for me is that the Foreo has more pros, but the Clarisonic feels better while I use it, which is a really big factor. I have skin that goes between normal and sensitive with issues. I like that I can buy different Clarisonic brushes to use on different days. With the Luna, you have to buy a separate unit for normal vs sensitive skin.

Here's a breakdown - I hope this helps.

Luna Mini Pros:

Small for travel

Comes with a carry case

Charge lasts for weeks

Charger is very small if you do need to travel with it

Small counter footprint

No added expense of replacing brushes

Dries quickly, no mold worries

Luna Cons:

The vibrations feel harsher on my skin

It's rigid and doesn't feel like it reaches everything the way a brush does.

Only one model. Large Luna offers different models for sensitive skin, combo skin, ultra sensitive skin and you can't easily change Luna's for different days and skin issues

Clarisonic Pros:

Feels gentle

Brushes feel like they reach places better than the rigid Luna

Multiple brush heads mean you can change brushes for different skin needs and don't need to buy a new unit for sensitive days vs regular days.

Clarisonic Cons:

Large for travel

Does not hold a charge for a week

Charger is bulky for travel

Larger counter footprint

Brushes are costly at ~$100/year

Dries slowly - mold worries

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. And thank you so much ChynnaBlue for listing out the pros and cons. I suspected the more solid bristles wouldn't feel as comfortable around my nose and chin but I hadn't actually heard that from anyone yet. The bacteria and cleanliness of the Foreo is appealing...I wouldn't even look to replace the Clarisonic if not for the bristles. I do dry off each night with a dry towel (it skeeves me to leave it sitting there sopping wet) but it still seems like something damp like this harbors bacteria. But I also like SEEING the makeup on my Clarisonic bristles. I first use makeup remover, then use the Clarisonic with a cleanser. There is almost always a little makeup residue on the brush. Do you think the Foreo actually gets rid of that last makeup residue as well as the Clarisonic?

I don't use a makeup remover first, I just massage my cleansing balm on and then go for it with the Clarisonic or the Luna and both usually show it when I am finished, but the Clarisonic makes it much more obvious. I was suspicious that the Luna did not cleanse as well, so I used a white toner pad over my face when I finished. It came away as clean as when I use my Clarisonic! I do believe that the Luna cleanses as well as the Clarisonic. I can also say that when I was was using the Luna on vacation for 2 weeks, I did not experience any changes in my skin or unusual breakouts when the Luna was the only cleansing device I used.

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

Thank you ChynnaBlue! I suppose the white bristles just make the makeup more obvious. I'm thinking about trying a small Foreo Luna just to mix it up a little. They are $115 on HSN and they are ""cute"" ?. I know that I don't NEED it but I do enjoy these small things when I'm getting ready for bed each night.

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

I have both and haven't used my Clarisonic for at least 6 months. Like the Mini Luna so much more. It's not scratchy Ike the Clarisonic and so much easier to clean. Also no replacement brushes.

Re: Clarisonic vs Foreo Luna?

I much prefer the Foreo Luna. I've had 2 Clarisonic Mia's and both stopped working. I had to charge them often and buy replacement brushes. Then I was able to get the Foreo for less than $90 so decided to try it since I had read many good things about it. I only use it in the morning on clean skin. It didn't seem to clean like my Clarisonic which I also used on clean skin, but I think it's because of how the brush feels. I've used my Foreo since August and haven't had to recharge yet. Recently I've noticed that my blackheads are almost gone. I also worry that over time if I continued to use a Clarisonic it might be too harsh and give me some broken capillaries. And not having to buy brushes for the Foreo is a real plus.
