Honny, I meant it's not just for oily scalp, not that those were your problems. I'm sorry, I don't feel this conversation will get us anywhere. You're obviously convinced that what you're doing is best for your hair ("Heaven"), so let's just leave it like that.

HB is by far my favorite poster on this board, she has never had a negative thing to say about anyone, and this is my thread, so I really feel compelled to step in here. She has been nothing but polite and is genuinely asking for advice, yet you refuse to give it. I'm sorry okie, but in what world do YOU, a poster on a home shopping network board, who probably lives halfway across the country, know what's best for SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY?! I take certain medications for my allergies, so are you going to tell me they aren't what's best for ME because YOU don't need them? I regret nothing about this thread - y'all can use shampoo if you need it and I hope you get great results like I do; maybe someday I can ditch the shampoo for good, but for now, it's what reminds my hair of all the things I love about Wen. HB, keep doing you and keep being a breath of fresh air and understanding on this board - it's much appreciated.

HB edited her post after my answer. Her original post did not answer my question about build up. How could I answer something that wasn't there?

Re: Clarifying Shampoo + ReMoist = Heaven!

Thank you Ry, that's so sweet!

ChynnaBlue actually gave a helpful answer with the recipe for the scrub. While I am leary of using food in my hair (memories of coconut milk dripping down my back), I am going to give this a try.

RyBelle, what do you expect of an astringent cleanser? Why do you think it has to dry your hair out to cleanse your scalp? When you used CA, was your scalp clean? Then it did it's job. Moisture and clean aren't mutually exclusive.

HonnyBrown, if you won't try CA, you won't know.

I just expected something a little bit, I don't know...deeper cleansing? It's so hard to explain because normal Wen cleans my hair perfectly fine (with the exception of the hard water deposits that tend to stay with me till I use shampoo), but since CA is marketed as taking it a step beyond I thought it might feel somewhat different than the other CC's; that's why I was so surprised that it ended up performing on my hair the way Fig seems to perform on others.
I find CA to be moisturizing too Smiley Happy I can really only use Fig and CA, and my hair needs tons of moisture. I love CA as a first cleanse right after an oil treatment!

awwww thanks! and yes he's amazing in person and because I do know him IRL it makes those personal attacks hard to stomach and sometimes I will say something...but I digress, sorry! another thread is bugging me right now LOL!!

I can only imagine the look on his face if I said 'hey, you know how some are using the remoist....after using a clarifying shampoo"! LOL!! He knows people still use curling irons, flat irons, hot rollers, metal brushes...etc I think this is why he emphasizes the importance of repairing hair with remoist and using the oils on the scalp to help remedy the damaging effects of those hot tools I mentioned....again I digress......

Why are you assuming Chaz is as judgmental as you are?

I sincerely doubt he would have an issue with anyone who uses his products and likes them.

I don't use ANY of the tools you mentioned....my hair has never been an overprocessed frizzy mess like some WENners describe. Maybe that is why shampoo every now & then never hurts my hair...it has always been healthy.

I use clarifying shampoo when I have build up and my hair goes flat. Then I go back to my favorite WEN CCs.

I bet Chaz would say "thank you for buying my products"...NOT get a look of horror on his face. Especially after he saw how healthy my hair is!

Thanks, bg!!! You are always welcome!

I use enough pumps, work the CC in, add the water, and do all the other Solutions to Newbie Mistakes. I don't have hard water. I started using Frizz Ease after my hair got longer and thicker and outgrew Wen. The build up occurred over the course of 10 months.

I take pause with using a new Wen CC (CA) to remove Wen build up.

hmmmm have you tried using the Glossing Serum mixed with VTS in place of the Frizz Ease? When I completely air dry my hair (I'm a 3B - curly spirally) the last thing I apply to wet hair is a mix of GS and VTS and softly scrunch my hair to get the curls going...then hands off til it's dry, then I shake the roots a bit to break up the curl...otherwise my curls like to bunch up together and hold on to each other for dear life! LOL!!!

Yay!!! Another 3b curly girl!! Mine do the same when they bunch up lol I will have to try the GS & VTS combo this Saturday AM!

I'm a 2C curly myself, how do you use the VTS?! I have a bottle now from the TSV and for the life of me I can't get it to work!

On an unrelated note, today I went to spray the BGT 6oz. RTM on my face and accidentally sprayed the VTS since they look identical - you can imagine how confused I was {#emotions_dlg.lol}

In my hand I use 1 pump of GS followed by 2 sprays of VTS....rub my hands together to mix and apply to the left side of my hair....then I do the same for the right side. You can also use the VTS as a root lifter before blow drying...I don't do this as I'm a rare breed that doesn't like a lot of volume! it's a running joke between me, Danny and Chaz....they love doing a blow out with ginormous volume on me LOL!

I got my SAM kit today!!!!!! It has a 32 ounce CC, full sized SC and VTS and 2 ounce RM.

I'm not going to use the serum and VTS tomorrow; I don't like experimenting on a work day.

But I am surely breaking in the CC and SC!!!! Maybe even the RM {#emotions_dlg.tt1}

bg, thank you again for the tips. I can't wait to report back!!!

Re: Clarifying Shampoo + ReMoist = Heaven!

Honny: I'm doing a happy dance for you in my office! So jealous of your SAM kit. I bet the SAM remoist is fab. I have not had the best luck with VTS so I share your weekday caution. I'm getting better with it though. I need to experiment with using just a single pump. My first day hair has been fine with two pumps -- it is day two that has been the issue. When I do my usual routine of waking up my curls with RTM, they lose their spring. I'm going to try again using a single spritz.

Anyhoo, definitely report back and have fun!
