Im sad..it only comes in toilette.   I never buy toilette because it doesn't last, and feel its a cheaper version.   I'm going to have to go try this on, and wait a few hours.  Gosh, for the price, why not make a parfum???     I loved the Premiere, but that's eu d parfum.    According to notes, it sounds nice.   As long as it's nothing like Cocoa (HATE IT).  Also, I've tried the toilettes, and to me, they're too light, and really can't smell them.

Has anyone tried this newer one??

Well I got my sample today and I'm not in love with it. It's sort of a fresh citrus scent. It doesn't smell bad, it's just not for me. It's nothing like Eau Premiere. I love love love that one. I bought it several years back in the huge upright 5 oz bottle before they changed it to the classic bottle and hiked up the price.

I hate change. I have not smelled the "NEW VERSION of Chanel NO5 , but nothing can beat the original scent. I will say this, I know they changed it a bit a few years ago as when I went to Macys' the sales lady that I've dealt with for years told me they "tweaked it" If any of you still have any left in a bottle from years ago you will know what I mean. Chanel stays good for quite sometime if it's not in heat or the sun or in where it is real cold. I am so disgusted with perfume and cosmetic makers these days. I wore Chanel NO 5 back when I was in high school and I am 63 now. For what they charge for a bottle now they should leave it alone.

I totally agree!  LEAVE MY NO.5 ALONE!

I think there may be some confusion. The new L'Eau is a brand new perfume. It is not a change to the original No 5.

I hope they don't mess with Coco Mademoiselle! That's my all-time favorite fragrance!
