This reminded me, I received a huge bottle of COCO as a gift which isn't my cup of tea.  I need to give it to someone who would enjoy it!

Love the new Chanel #5! It is much more modern & lighter than the original. My new go too!

I love Chanel fragrances, including No 5. I got a Dillard's gift catalog with a sample if the new one. It smells good to me!  My husband has always bought my Chanel fragrances so this will give me something to give him as a Christmas gift idea. As those here know, I shop for myself often (too often, lol) so I was going to suggest we skip the gifts this year. He never does it anyway.

I have to hand it to Chanel. No other fragrance line I have tried is excellent across the board.

So does this mean that the original Chanel 5 isn't going to be sold any more?Smiley Sad

Or are they replacing it with the new one?

@Pqfan, Hi, hope you are well. No, there seems to be some confusion in this thread. The original Chanel # 5 continues to be sold and for the most part smells identical to what it smelled like back in the 80's. The newer Eau Premier is slightly lighter and my choice. It has been out for a few years. The new one Chanel L'Eau just introduced in the past few months I purchased  and it has no staying power and fades quickly. Hope that helps...

@Trinity11 Hi Trinity11. I am well thanks so much.

I hope you are well too. Heart

Thanks for the info on these.

I want to treat myself to some fragrance as a reward for staying on my weightloss plan but I have been messing up so badly lately I might never be able to get it lol!

@Pqfan I hear you.....this time of year is so difficult. I have a pumpkin pie in the kitchen that is calling my name. I am trying not to cut into it until Thursday. Well, tomorrow is Monday....the perfect day to start anew on our diets. Heart

So glad I saw this post!! I LOVE the #5 premiere, but haven't re-purchased it for a while. Just wanting something new. Hopefully Dillard's will carry this new fragrance....is it out yet?

I hate change. I have not smelled the "NEW VERSION of Chanel NO5 , but nothing can beat the original scent. I will say this, I know they changed it a bit a few years ago as when I went to Macys' the sales lady that I've dealt with for years told me they "tweaked it" If any of you still have any left in a bottle from years ago you will know what I mean. Chanel stays good for quite sometime if it's not in heat or the sun or in where it is real cold. I am so disgusted with perfume and cosmetic makers these days. I wore Chanel NO 5 back when I was in high school and I am 63 now. For what they charge for a bottle now they should leave it alone.
