Can you self tan while dermarolling?

Not so much for the face but for the body. I haven't started using it on my body but wanted if you could use self tanners the next day, anyone know?

Re: Can you self tan while dermarolling?

I've derma rolled, but just on my face, and only for product absorption. And I self tan.

As you know, you want tanner to stay on the surface of the skin. While it's not dangerous, it's not particularly antioxidant or collagen building. It's derived from sugar which does cause glycation. We don't know what it would or wouldn't do if it got deeper into the skin. It also might look odd.

If I were you and wanted to do both, I wouldn't self tan very soon after dermarolling. I'd wait a few days until healing was totally complete. How deep you roll could have an effect as well.

I agree. I think while you are derma rolling, it would be best to avoid ST all together but if you feel you must overlap them at all then I would also recommend waiting at least a few days after cosmetic length rollers. If you are using anything deeper than a .2 or .3 roller then I'd wait a minimum of at least 10 to 14 days. Since .5 roller is not recommended more than once a month, you could conceivably use a ST in the middle of rolling which would put it at 2 weeks after/2weeks before next use.

There's a lot of chemicals in ST's which I can't imagine being of any benefit to the skin especially when it is vulnerable. More likely, there are ingredients that you really don't want absorbing into your skin. If you are rolling on the body anywhere, I'd avoid ST in those areas.

I agree that it is an excellent question as I'm sure there are women who do routinely ST this time of year and have now added derma rolling to their skincare routine.
