Re: Can you please suggest a makeup kit for mature ladies?

I think the IT cosmetics makeup book would be a really nice gift.

@Laura14 I'm no make-up guru but a light touch of a shimmer on her lids (eyeshadow or highlighter) will add a little light to her eyes.  If she applies too mcuh, she can tone it down a bit with some foundation powder.  Only sharing this in case you find a kit you really like and it has shimmer eyeshadow.  You are a veru kind daughter.  Thank you for treating your mother so well.  I miss mine terribly and wish daily she was here to share things with.  Blessings.

@Laura14

If you have a chance please visit Emilynoel's YT channel she uploaded a review on ITS Holiday Book: she gives wonderful reviews. Keep in mind that she is in her thirties early possible? Scroll through the comments Rxmom sp? Not sure...

I have her name spelled right, anyway she mentions the blush grabbing on her 70's skin, then goes onto saying oh, Emily to have your skin again. Mind you! She is very attractive and has quite a following herself on YT, the truth is age matters when speaking about makeup, texture changes, as well other variables.

@Misplaced Parisian  HeartHeartHeart to you.

I will have to sneak into her bathroom when she is not around and see what she's got.  Most palettes do have a bit of shimmer to them and I'm wondering if I am staying away and shouldn't be.  Time to do some recognizance.

Unfortunately, if I struck up a conversation about makeup, I'd give it away because it's so not what I talk to her about.  LOL

Re: Can you please suggest a makeup kit for mature ladies?

@Sweet_Serenity  You are so right!  And makeup is so personal too but she mentioned almost buying some for herself the other night and didn't because it was expensive and she wasn't sure it would look right.  I think it is one of those things that she just isn't going to bother buying for herself so I'd like to.

I think I am going to stick with something the Q sells and if she hates it, she can send it back and I'll give her the money instead.

My stupid employer has Youtube blocked so I am going to have to sneak a peek at these reviews on break.

IT Holiday Book: seems like it would be wise choice, mean includes everything! She can use the concealers as foundation, play with so many colors.

@Sweet_Serenity  I really think I am going to go with that and stop driving myself nuts.  I have a month until her birthday but I like to be done and over with early and I think it has good shades for her.  I really appreciate your wealth of information.  You taught me so much today.  Heart

Re: Can you please suggest a makeup kit for mature ladies?

I'm in my mid 60's and recommend the IT Holiday Book. A key feature for me is there's no talc in the products. Talc is drying and preferably something I like to avoid. The eyeshadows are creamy going on and satiny. Not glittery at all. I get a soft look that can be enhanced by using more...or less. All IT's blushes are highly pigmented. Don't let this scare you away. See Emily Noel's utube review, her blush is very soft, natural and on the pale side. Not garish at all.

The Holiday Box is really pretty and I can't imagine any woman, any age not smiling when they see it in person. A little jewel with a small footprint that's chock full of most everything a gal could need. Foundation, mascara, brushes are the adjuncts to this cosmetic beauty.

@Laura14 I have the most adorable notion of you on your research mission!  Just don't get caught, darling.  Giggles.  Your mother will adore her gifts.  BTW, how do we get on your glorious gift giving list?  Smiley Wink

Re: Can you please suggest a makeup kit for mature ladies?

Thank you @rochelleS!   I was a little hesitant because some of those eyeshadows looked a bit shimmery.  I have one of the IT holiday eyeshadow palettes from a few years ago and I love it.  It's my go to and while I can make it glittery if I want with the ombre stripe, the shadows themselves are lovely.

I'll take a look at the YT video in a few minutes at lunch just to take a peek at it and then I'll probably go ahead and order it and cross her off my list.

Thanks everyone!  Smiley Very Happy
