Thanks, to all for the explanation! I've recently kicked up my moisturizer/treatment routine (thank you, @Shanus for the recommendation a while back) and wondered if I was over doing it.  The pinch test tells me I'm doing enough.  So I'm guessing I have 'normal' skin, that WAS dehydrated, but is being treated correctly.

@Sammijo10 Skincare is so important to me...more so than good makeup. It can make or break how your makeup goes on and and appears whe finished. Well hydrated, cared for skin gives you a great beginning whether you wear makeup or not.

Philosophy uses the expression "makeup optional skin" and so do I. I want my skincae clients to have the best skin possible so they don't need heavy, aging foundations. Many can now wear a tinted moisturizer (there are ones with some coverage) and then spot conceal. The look is 10 years younger than the hosts/models you see on QVC, for example.

Drink up @monicakm because getting dehydrated does more damage to your body than just your skin. Your internal organs work harder when not having enough liquid.

It doesn't really matter if you taste it, although I'm really sorry you can't. Just think of it as medicine and get at least 8 glasses of liquid every day....more if you exercize. Here's a trick I use. I have a big plastic pitcher w/ lid in the frig. It holds 64 oz. of water. I add sliced lemon or cucumber...anything to get it down. By the end of the day, I always make sure the pitcher is empty. That's my 8 (8oz.) glasses a day. ***quit about 7PM or you'll be up during the night for a potty run. LOL

@Shanus, What have you found to be good tinted moisturizers?  I've tried the Josie Maran one, but the one size fits all tint is too dark for me, even in summer.

@Sammijo10   Bobbi Brown has the best I've found...not only light coverage, but the largest shade range of most lines. They free ship and free returns on all foundation.

NUDE FINISH TINTED MOISTURIZER (beige tube). It has SPF 15, which is not enough. I apply my own SPF as part of my skincare's last step before this as my additional moisturizer and spf. It is not oily or greasy, just a hint of glow on the cheeks. I only need to powder down my t zone in summer. In winter, that extra moisture is a blessing. If you need to spot conceal for any discoloations, you can purchase a matching concealer or I use their foundation stick in a matching shade.

*** I use Porcelain in the tinted moisturizer and foundation stick.... Perfect match to my skin and each other.
