@monicakm While I don't know about whether it's ok or not to color so soon, my stylist did let me know that if I ever use the Schwarzkopf to touch up my roots, that their colors tend to run darker. Just thought you may want to keep that in mind.

I would call the number on the box and ask them.
What are the levels for, strength of the formula?
I see where the 2nd box has number 6 don't see the 4 on the first box.
Am curious now for the number on my box of coloring, have been using it for years Clairol Natural Instints but am thinking of making a change.
TIA
The 4 is in the box where it says Espresso. The level is the shade. 4 is pretty dark. Years ago I used a level 4. It looked almost black and it was a semipermanent product. The higher the number, the lighter the shade. It doesn't have anything to do with the strength.
For example: a level 8 used on a level 4 most likely isn't going to lift your hair color to the level 8 color. You would need to use something with a higher volume peroxide. I would leave that to a professional. You may end up with brassiness or unwanted redness that would need to be toned down.
Again, I would call the number on the box. They are the experts and want the best outcome for their customers.

The result will be very dark and flat. you seem like you are looking for a warmer shade. The new color will grab the hair because your colored hair is porous. It's not a good idea to re-color the length anyway each time you color. just do the roots. I colored over one level, my hair came out muddy greenish looking. I don't think its a good idea to risk it.

What about calling your stylist and asking her? I mostly get my hair colored at the salon, but sometimes I want to touch up my roots at home. My stylist has been happy to answer all my questions and offers to put together a "kit" with instructions using professional products. She did this for all her clients during COVID.

Just an FYI for those who might have an issue with dye irritating their scalp - have your stylist add a packet of Sweet and Low to the dye. It was not unusual for me to have tiny red bumps on my scalp after a root touch up. My stylist heard about the Sweet and Low trick at a hair show and we decided to try it. I've had no issues since adding Sweet and Low to the dye.

@Starliteshine yes, i always used a packet of Sweet n Low when I used to color! worked just as well as care and comfort from the beauty supply store.
