I found that after a certain age, eyeliner needs to be extremely thin, almost invisible. Once you can actually see a line like BB's pot liner, it closes up the eye where all you see is a dark line on the lid and under the eye... I stopped using it after I saw myself in a photo.

That happened to me, too, except I forgot to pack it for vacation.  

So I had to go without and when I started looking at all the pics, I liked the softer, younger look, better, not having my lower lashes lined and never went back! 

I do line my upper lashline only when I want to look *glamorous*, but usually just do shadow (sometimes) and mascara.

I agree.  If the liner is thick and especially on the lower lasheline, if your line *dips* too low and isn't as precise as the other eye, it almost looks like your lower lids are drooping....or your eyes don't match.

@Trinity11   I agree, but since it's waterproof and you can use a fine brush, it's easy to use between the top lashes. It defines your eyes without lining on the lid. The plus is your lashes look thick before the mascara.

Been there done that @Shanus . I purchased the Bobbi Brown brush and still it looked drawn on. I had a steady hand back then, too. I tried tightlining too. I ended up with a costly trip to the ophthalmologist. 

The rare time I do line my eyes I use a pencil. Personally, I prefer to emphasize the color of my eyes avoiding much more than mascara. Photos come out more natural too.
