Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

when i get that over applied look that shows pores  and  heaviness, i use my damp beauty blender or any other triangle foam wedge  and simply dab it until it thins out, or warms up to fill in the pores.

bare mineals used to do that and the same technique was perfect to blend the minerals powder down.  try it b/c celebration  is good. i also just use on top LIGHTLY over other makeup. hth

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

At first it seemed as if the powder was caking on my chin also and one area of my cheek. I was so dissapointed, but............then I got out my rosewater and sprtized my face....it all evened out and my skin looked flawless. You might try that?
Thanks. I, too, am getting the caking. I will try spritzing my face.

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

I tried a sample of this product when at Ulta recently. Put a tiny bit on a couple of areas of my face and by the time I was done shopping, 10 minutes later, I glanced in the mirror and saw caking and really noticeable shininess.  I went back to the IT aisle to read the ingredients and sure enough, mica is the first ingredient, which is always a big no for my skin. Makes it look greasy/shiny.  Cakey and shiny is not the look I'm going for! Eek!  This product was a big fail for me.

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

You all are making me want to keep trying it. I will wear it all week and see how I feel by the end of the week. i do feel I look more shiny mid day but I can't touch up or It cakes, even if I blott before I apply, I will have to use my mineral veil to touch up as that does not cake on me.

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

I'm not really liking it. I think it makes my skin look dry (older). I'll stick with my Dr Denese SPF 30. I may have to cancel my A/D on this kit but I like all the other stuff in it.

I too have cakiness. I tried it with the No.50 primer sample that came with it and it was fine with that.  I do not want to pay $50 for primer though

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

I was not thrilled when I first tried this foundation, but played around with it to see if I liked it any better. I put my Dr. Denese SPF 30 on my face, wait about 10 minutes, and then apply the foundation. I got better results using this method. I'm not sure I will be able to use this foundation in the winter because I think it will be too dry.

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

Even with a primer, I get caking as well and my pores look huge within an hour or two. Sadly, even though I love the concealer and the brush, I think it's going back. Yet another beauty product back to QVC.

I find the same thing too. So far, I am not fond of the finish on this. When I use the regular celebration, it seems to meld with my skin after a few minutes and I get a nice, subtly radiant finish. This one just looks dry on my skin, and never seems to meld. Will try the damp blender and rose water mist.

Re: Caking with Celebreation Foundation SPF50

I have worn this foundation for a total of 3 days.  2 of the 3 days it caked and my pores looked huge. I have decided that I am not going to keep trying to make it look good.  It shouldn't take this much effort.  My pores looked huge (even with the IT primer and BBP).  I wish I could remember if I did something different on the one day that it looked ok.  It wasn't great though, so I'm not trying too hard to remember.

I've come to the conclusion that the only powder foundation that I can wear is BM and that liquid foundation is best for my 45 yr old skin. I will stick with the IT CC cream.  With my skin changing daily with my stuipid hormones, I find that the CC cream adapts the best to my cranky skin.
