Please don't fall for the brightening concealers. They'll drawer attention to any issues. Concealers should only be a shade lighter, if that. DOLL 10 and MALLY are saying to lighten that area and have products that claim to smoothe and brighten the undereye. Neither of them have lines or wrinkles there...fillers, Botox or whatever. Neither are "spring chickens". Lol

Re: CONCEALERS THAT BRIGHTEN

Bobbie Brown had an under concealer that was for darker circles. You just tap a dab of that under concealer and it gave a natural, look, and the concealer looked great.

@Effie54   The BB concealers are still available. There's the original creamy one in a compact (my preference) and a full coverage one in a tube w/ doe foot which I find too dry for the undereye. If undereye is dark there is a corrector to go underneath.

I only use them in parts that 'go in' when I want them to 'come out'...an illusion thing.

Re: CONCEALERS THAT BRIGHTEN

To me, a brightening product isn't exactly the same as just a concealer.

A concealer is there to...conceal something & should match the skin tone if it is full coverage.

A brightening concealer has a tone &/or finish that provides camoflauge for a problem, but also does "brighten" that area.

Touche Eclat, Mac Prep+Prime Highlighter, Becca Brightening Corrector are good for that, but I haven't tried other brands that claim the same.

Just using a concealer that is lighter than your skin tone does not brighten the area like @justashopper pointed out.

There are thousands of products out there. It is all just trial & error, & error, & error...or not. Some people actually just get on with their lives & don't worry about it all that much. LOL What is fun about that!?

@Dusty1  @SilleeMee   You're both right. Lighter colors will bring the area forward, but if not careful, puffy or darker areas when brightened will be more prominent, too.

My preference is the small compact under concealer. It gives that tiny bit of oomph without making me look like a raccoon.

@Effie54   My shade in that corrector is Porcelain Bisque. It lightens slightly, but has a peach tone and I need to wear concealer on top to blend w/ my complexion.
