CHRISTMAS PR PACKAGES ROLLING IN

[ Edited ]

I've been receiving many PR "gifts" these last few weeks. Strange since I do not promote or sell products in my businesses ("practice"?). DH informed me since I'm paying self-employment taxes, I can refer to it as a practice, but sounds too serious to me.

I've mainly received gifts from Skinceuticals, Obagi, L'Oreal skincare, haircare gift packages from Moroccan Oil, Biotera, Pantene, DevaCurl and WEN. Not sure how I got on some of these lists since don't do hair. I gifted most of these...but kept the skincare.

Nars sent a cute Orgasm Gift Set, CT's Pillow Talk lipstick, gloss, and lip cheat liner and yesterday a MAC  Times Nine shadow palette in Burgundy Times Nine. That went in the makeup room since not my colors and a few MAC lipsticks (minis) in Creme In Your Coffee ( a good light neutral), Viva Glam (their famous red) and Giddy  (sort of a light bubblegum pink). I also received a Bobbi Brown Skin Care Set from BB courtesy of my BB friend from many years ago in NY.

Much of the packages sent, I don't use but will be gifted as stated or experiemented on clients. The companies of course, get a nice thank you note and a reminder that I don't promote or sell products.

@PinkyPetunia   PR stands for "promotional" gifts. The companies hope the recipients will recommend the products to their clients.

@cuddlesmama   Everyone can wear it. It's a peachy/pink which covers warm and cool skin tones. Unless your complexion is med. dark to very rich, it's a universal blush shade and in every MUA kit. I prefer the Multiples version since it's a cream in a stick. In summer, I set it w/ the Orgasm powder blush. It does have a tiny bit of shimmer which gives an attractive glow to the cheeks..nothing too obvious.

I know I'm in the minority on this but this is one of those make-up items that I find to be so overrated it's not even funny.  The color is pretty but I think it's way too sparkly.  There are other versions of blushes from Milani that are very similar, without the sparkle, that I like much better.

Honestly I have said for years that if this blush didn't have that name, it wouldn't be such a big hit.

@Lipstickdiva

I fell for the hype over the original Orgasm blush too (and I think you're right about the name).  It wore more peachy on me than I liked so I returned it.

@Lipstickdiva Yes and it oxidizes something crazy on my porcelain complexion. I end up by the evening looking like two peaches exploded on my cheeks. LOL

My natural blush is a subtle, soft pink and Orgasm Powder Blush takes on a strange "orange" shade after a few hours.
