Sometimes I think they are mutually exclusive. Or maybe somewhat of a dichotomy

I'll be watching this thread myself as I welcome suggestions too. I do use Halo occasionally and can say that it does not dry out my skin. As the day goes on, my skin takes on somewhat of a glow which I really do like and it makes my skin look very hydrated.

I agree that a good hydrating mist can made a world of difference. Yet more than a plain water spray as dry skin benefits much more from a mist with effective hydrating ingredients.

IT Celebration Foundation is fairly decent. It doesn't make my skin feel dry at all. I don't find it covers as well as Jamie claims, but I do like it.

Id love to know, too, what everyone else loves. Powder-type foundations *tend* to be what I reach for every day. I like to be quick with a base product and the powder allows me to do this. However, I am dry and have finicky skin, so it's not always the answer.

I like Laura Geller Balance and Brighten. It isn't really moisturizing but it doesn't dry me out at all and never looks powerdy.
