Hopefully I can make this clear. and easy to answer
...which is more important...the ingredients in a beauty product, specifically a moisturiser and/or a facial product like a face pad (dr. denese, peter thomas roth) that contains ingredients to help fend off the aging process or using a pure product like Argan oil that keeps the skin supple?
Currently I have the Dr. Denese pads that I use several times a week but wondering when I run out if I should just not reorder and purchase an argan oil to keep the skin on my face supple?
thanks!

only beauty products I buy are from beauty counter they are what is in your products? If your care the EWG.COM has an app that rates all the beauty products plus food products according to what is in them? you can go to the ewg.com and check them out. very high standards.

@Mom2Dogs Skincare isn't a 1-stop shop, it's a routine that addresses multiple issues and one product just can't do it all. You need to exfoliate, feed, moisturize, and have some degree of sun protection. After that, you can evaluate your skin/complexion for other issues you may need to address - ie. hyperpigmentation, firmness, etc. Your pads from Dr. D or PTR address the surface exfoliation. This is an important step. It helps to remove the dead skin from the surface and helps the skin renewal process. My understanding of argan oil is that it is used as a moisturizer but some people probably believe it's their serum too. That, you'll have to research and weigh yourself.

I'll toss out that not all skin needs to exfoliate. My skin simply can't tolerate it and doesn't need it. I did a lot of harm over the years by following this advice and tried about all exfoliation products you can imagine--mechanical and chemical.
When I stopped using them my skin improved a lot. When I eliminated the anti ageing products it helped more. So some of us with fair sensitive skin need to be worried more about not irritating skin than exfoliating or using products that will redden and irritate our faces.

@JeanLouiseFinch, fudge, I wanted just a one stop shop skin care routine, ha!
Seriously what you said makes perfect sense. I do use an exfoliator, as well as SPF and a good day and night time moisturizer and my 62 year old skin looks pretty good....(except for the sun spots on my hads) I wanted to use less product but I guess I will continue with my current routine, thank you

@Mom2Dogs I think it is pretty easy. Chemicals versus organic. I prefer Marula oil and/or Argan oil. I purchase mine from Acure Organics, a family owned company. I like the Citrus Argan Oil and they have the regular and 3 other scents. I hope they bring some scents with the Marula oil but so far none. The oils are suppose to stop new wrinkles coming in and it does diminish the look of current ones. Plus i pay under $16 for one and under $13 for the other.

@Katcat1....I did go to the Acure website to view their products, thanks!

I think that it all comes down to how much you believe the claims of both types (anti-aging and simple oils).

I didn't know that a beauty product keeps your skin supple.
I've always thought it was more to with genetics and what we eat and avoiding cigs.
I've heard Josie M say on air that Argan Oil is all you need and it will keep your skin plump and firm. But, I've never heard a Qvc host say it because it's not true and they'd get in trouble.
So whether it's Dr Denese pads or the Josie's Argan Oil I'd go with the least expensive one because it's all a bunch of b.s.
One should keep their skin moisturized and drink plenty of water and stay away from the damaging affects of sugar, sun and cigs.

Don't we all!? That would be great!
I'm lazy and don't want to use 6 differnet things at once. I've found that some things I'm able to cocktail together and apply at once and other things I alternate so I'm not using them all at the same time. That's made things easier for me.
Just be careful if you decide to mix things together, as some things lose stability or effectiveness if you mix them with anything else and others are going to be extra irritating if you mix or even layer them. I never mix my sunscreen with anything and I never mix or layer a retinol with an AHA or BHA.
