This might help you decide. It's a tool to help you figure out what's best for your face shape

It's so individual! I had bangs for a long time, and when they looked "right" I loved them. But one gust of wind would ruin them...no amount of fixing would repair them. I finally let them grow out almost 2 years ago, and have never been happier with my hair. I started out by just brushing them off my face (I have a side-part, chin length bob) then got my stylist to sort of blend them in with my hair as they grew and I would get cuts.
Good luck!

Get some clip-in bangs and try them out for a bit and then decide. You can even cut them or alter them to fit whatever you had in mind. QVC sells the Hairdo bangs, but you can find them in other stores, as well.

I've had bangs my entire life, and consequently I have absolutely NO lines on my forehead! They've protected me from the sun--it's pretty amazing. I grew them out once, and I thought it made me look older--so back to the bangs!

I wore bangs for years and years. Most of my life. Bangs worked for me when I was a slave to a blow dryer and wore my hair straight all the time. But now I wear my natural curls for much of the time, so bangs wouldn't work for me. I have a friend who was considering bangs and she had her hairdresser put in some extensions so she could test drive bangs. They weren't clip ins, they were extensions.

I think some people need bangs and some people look better without them. I really think it depends on the rest of your haircut.
I have longer, sideswept bangs. I'm not much into the short, full bangs anymore and I really dislike a full, short bang on someone with long hair. But that's me. You have to do what you are comfortable with.
I too would try clip in bangs before I'd cut my own hair into a short bang though, if that's what you are thinking. Because once you cut them, they are a you know what to grow back out. My SIL just had short bangs cut into her hair and detests them.

Have your stylist hold up your hair so you can see how you would look with bangs. That can be done very easily. Good luck.

Absolutely not. They're just hot on the forehead in summer and a PITA to grow out.

I just cut my side swept bangs 2 inches shorter. Unemployed looking for a job in my 40's makes me look 10 years younger. It really helps! seems to be back in style, all the stars sporting them again! Side swept is good cuase you can always brush to the side and stuff for hats!
