@pietook wrote:No, I wasn't returning anything! I was ordering. And it has certainly been over 24 hrs. since the promised email----which makes me even more determined to rant to them! But, I don't know how else to get through to them. ERRRRGG
@pietook, if you were by any chance responding to my post, it was not directed to you but to @Sweet_Serenity.

I've never had any trouble ordering online from them but I haven't had a security number with an issue like yours. LIke every other online or home shopping company I'm sure they have milllions of customers so, from time to time, there will be people who have issues. But, when they happens they need to have excellent customer service and a real answer to the issue. I can't imagine that their computer coding can't handle 2 digits that are the same.

I've never had a problem ordering from Ulta online either (another platinum member here). In fact, my problem was with UPS returning my order because I "wasn't home to let them in the building (I was)." When Ulta credited me, I was pleasantly surprised that I got my points back, which I thought were lost forever.
Needless to say, I've figured out how to handle UPS after that incident.

I agree with "Don't get me started!" I ordered once online and it was my last! The turnover in stores is terrible. I have three stores in my area and not one person is knowledgeable about anything! Every store has one person checking customers out while there are lines and others just watch and don't help out and people look frustrated all the time! The customer service and free shipping and returns at Nordstrom and others is so worth avoiding the frustration of Ulta!!!

Ulta was fine when they first started. I don't go or order from them anymore. Never had a problem online but the packaging wasn't great. The stores are horrible for the most part. Sephora stores are getting just about as bad, ugh.

I had problems with their payment screen, too. Somehow they had four billing address options but they were each identical. I think one of them had the extra four digit zip at the end and it would not match, saying billing address on file didn't match zipcode. I had to keep opening up each one and it still said it didn't match.I tried both one with and without the extra four numbers. Then it still didn't go through, probably their tight security. It was really frustrating because I've ordered a lot at other places online for over a decade without problems. I just never went back and bought what I wanted at dermstore.com instead.

Not a fan of Ulta, so not surprised by your experience.

Update on my Ulta mess. The only way I could get a response was to go to their FB site and post my rant under an ad pix. Lo and behold, they started a correspondence by private messaging. I had to send screenshot my order page (which I had to LEARN how to do)!, my name, address etc. Then, after they said problem was fixed---it still said my coupon had already been used!!! ERRRGGG-- again! After more private messaging---they sent a new coupon by email. I did go ahead and place my order, but doubt i will ever order again. I like Ulta and save up my points and use on their Black Fri./Christmas sales----but will probably rethink this!

I have had the same issue as you a couple months ago and also was trying to use a coupon code that showed 'already used' without any order going through. It didn't matter which credit card I used and I probably tried 6 different cards before I called them. Customer service could do nothing to help except open a trouble ticket with their IT department. Took a week to fix it and the sale items I wanted were no longer on sale by then. However, customer service did give me a code so that I could get 5x points on my next order. Hope they are at least doing that for you. Haven't had any issues since then thankfully.
whoops! Just read your last post more closely. Glad they stepped up.

I have a similar experience as you with the payment screen.
The order wouldnt go through and no matter what I did I still kept getting an error. All my payement info was correct and I never experienced anything like this on any of the other places i've shopped online.
When I finally got a hold of customer service, they made no effort to figure out what the issue was and just told me to shop in store. I shopped online because whenever I went to a store they only had half of the things I wanted in stock, and Im not driving around to multiple stores to make a purchase. There is something clearly wrong with their website they dont care to fix. I haven't shopped there since.
