Re: BURNING QUESTIONS ANYONE?

Hi Shanus!

I have a question. I am wondering why when I use black eyeliner, after a couple of hours, it turns blue. I do use an eyelid primer, powder eyeshadow, and the eyeliner on top of it. But no matter what brand I've used, what media I've used i.e. pencil, liquid Pan, powder, etc. my eyeliner always turns blue. Thanks for your input.

@Shanus    I am pale (not fair) and "cool".   My eyes are Army Jungle Camo color.

I "think" I look best in violet shades of eye makeup.  Need your opinion.  diAmatista Laye 2.jpg

@Shanus ---have you had experience with using magnetic lashes?? My lashes are awful from results of chemo--the brows came back, but my lashes are stubby, and short and go every which way but straight out in front--

@Effie54   Wow! I've never run across that issue. You may want to try different lid primers. The one you use may be interacting with the pigments in the liners. If you use a liquid black liner, try to set it w/ black powder shadow and see if that helps.

@Desertdi   My eyes are about the same shade as yours. I find with my fair skin, most shades of purple/violet are the first thing seen on my face. I use a very neutral shadow (bone, pale pink, a light taupe) and then line with a dark purple/eggplant, grey or navy. Urban Decay 24/7 pencils are waterproof and they have a wide range of colors. Sometimes just a deep chocolate brown is nice, too. Mascara, at my age, defines the eye more than shadows.

@wagirl   I don't personally use false lashes. Thankfully mine have remained dark and thick.

On clients, I prefer Ardel strips that I can trim to fit the shape of the eye. I have experienced the magnetic ones and they felt heavy and unnatural.

Re: BURNING QUESTIONS ANYONE?

@Shanus  Do you have a recommendation for a hair gel similar to Dippity-Do, which I used "back in the day" and is no longer available?  Thank you in advance!

Ah, Dippity Do! Fond memories...I used it to try to slick my curls straighter...never worked & looked like a drowned rat. I don't have a substitute for you. I'm a mousse gal, sorry.

Re: BURNING QUESTIONS ANYONE?

I need a good eyebrow pencil, I used to use a Chantecaille one that was perfect, of course they don't make it any more.  Had a Lancome one--not made. . .

I need a taupe/brown/gray one, not too dark, with good consistency that lasts.  I don't like the ones that are really powdery or too waxy, but I do prefer pencil.

Also, a easy on eyeliner that won't smear and puts down a thin line.  I don't line under the eye.

Thanks for doing this!  My skincare is working much better now so I appreciate your expertise there!
