I've been using BE mineral foundation for years. 56 and light skin. I'm intrigued by the IT Celebration Foundation. Should I switch? What color?

I think that's really a personal preference. I've been using BE for years, and always go back to it no matter what new foundation I try. I've tried IT Celebration Foundation 2 separate times (the original, and the newer version), and was really unimpressed both times. The shade wasn't terrible, but didn't completely match, and I didn't like how it felt on, or how it lasted through the day. To me, BE is MUCH better, but some people really like IT, so you probalby need to try it for yourself.
If you wear Light in BE, being for golden undertones, Light may work in IT, but you might also want to get matched.

I have it, but I like BE better. I guess it's because I have not have good luck in choosing the "correct" color. I use LIGHT in BE original. When I got IT in LIGHT, it's too light. I later ordered a MEDIUM, still color is kind of off and so is the way it feels/looks on my face. {{ shrug }}

I think that's one of the problems with IT (and others) is there is not enough range in shades. IT doesn't match me well enough to keep trying it. I've tried the CC Cream as well, and it didn't quite match, besides I didn't like it on because it became a greasy mess by the end of the day.

Thanks ladies!! I think I'll stick with BE.

This. Bare Minerals has such a wide range of shades that I can't imagine anyone who loves it giving it up to try to fit into a product where 5 colors are magically supposed to work for the entire spectrum of skin tones.

Bare Escentuals regular formula loose foundation doesn't work for me. I like their matte formula, but haven't bought it for a while. I now use IT Celebration foundation (regular formula - not more recent glowing formula), among other brands. I currently prefer pressed formulas, but might go back to BE Matte in the future.
As for shades, there have been many threads regarding the confusing naming of IT shades. If you tell us what shade of BE you use, we may be able to tell you what shade of IT likely will work for you.

I have used both and prefer BE...I wear fairly light in BE and purchased the light in IT, I can't seem to get any coverage with IT. I even used the sponge that came with the IT and it barely picked up any foundation!!! I think there is a 'film' on the product.....it just does not pick up product and therefore no coverage!

Interesting. I sometimes have the opposite problem - I'm heavy handed with IT and tend to apply too much. As for the film, I believe that has been discussed on other threads. I found that I got film when I use the IT brush (so soft!). When I use another brush which is not as soft but perfectly comfortable to use, there is no more film.
By the way, I wear Fairly Light in BE but use Medium in IT. As I said in my previous post, there has been much confusion over IT shades, but I believe I heard a presentation where Jamie or the host said IT's Medium has more golden undertones, where Light is more pink. I have golden to neutral undertones, so I chose Medium.
