Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

Pass for me. Shadows too light and too sparkly, gloss is too much shimmer. When the name of a gloss is high shimmer gloss, that's not for me.

I don't care what she says, the sparkle shadows and gloss are too much shimmer "for me". For others, the shimmer level may be acceptable. I don't care for it.

I like the pot rouge and the eyeliner but I can pick those up later on.

Not a fan of the face touchup palette. They are too small and I'm tired of seeing that.

I watched the presentation this morning with Carolyn, and they both did say that two of the shadows were sparkly. But they didn't have to say it; once applied, that's pretty much all I could see.

I thought it was fine on the younger models. But I would not put them on my eyes. I can use satin but not something as glittery as those.

I thought the whole hour was just somehow off, a bit awkward in general.

lol, I always feel the BB presentations are, well, awkward (for lack of a better word).

Maybe so, HD. I think, though, that the chemistry just wasn't there. The host pretty much admits that she is not into makeup, which is fine, but I think it showed. She seemed unusually (for her) unprepared and sort of like a fish out of water.

In a strange way, the presentation worked for me...nice change from the "expert" hosts that seem to use every single product and swear by it all. I liked Carolyn's honesty about why she gave up on eyeliner, etc.

Yes, I knew that some would enjoy that change. Carolyn also brought up age quite a bit. She seems to have a definite mantra when it comes to clothing and makeup based on her own lifestyle and her own needs, and I think that it does appeal to many viewers.

But I was referring also to what I thought was a bit of fumbling on her part. It just didn't seem to flow that well -- several awkward pauses and a sense of not knowing what should be said next. And regardless of my opinion of her, I do think she is usually very organized and on top of things.

Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

I wear BB makeup, but am passing on this TSV. I need basics, such as mascara and foundation. I have plenty of the other stuff, and I don't like the sparkle shadows at all.

I am curious as to what the Nordstrom BB anniversary kit will look like this summer. I have a Nordstrom gift card that I received for Christmas, and it may get spent on makeup!

I'm not -- don't have a lot of BB products -- but I just want to say I think she does the BEST natural look! Other MUA always say "see how natural?" but I'm usually seeing well applied makeup, albeit done with softer shades, etc., But w/BB -- it truly IS you but better. She's a master!

Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

I have several of the products in this kit.

Travel concealer and foundation - give these products a three. There is very little foundation in the set and no one who is not a professional make up artist requires 2 different concealer colors.

Lips - have no lasting power

Blush - intense cheek color which I don't like and I end up putting more foundation over it to tone it down.

Brushes - outstanding.

Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

I thought that Carolyn did a great job. Since she does not wear a lot of makeup she actually is a good representative for Bobbi's makeup because she can show that Bobbi's makeup is easy to use and is natural enough for women who are not makeup guru's like those of us who have been on these boards for years.

I have decided that I am going to get this kit. I am going to use it to make my own travel kit for this summer so I don't have to repack everything. I wear mostly all Bobbi's make up and the quality to me is really superior to most brands at any price range. I wear Bobbi's foundation in warm ivory, but I am going to order the porcelain because the sand is too dark for me. Bobbi said the porcelain has a little yellow in it so I think that will suit me better. Besides you can use the foundation as a concealer if it is too light.

I can't find the photo of the description of the second shipment in september. I saw it yesterday, but now I can't find it.

One is a corrector. I personally don't use a corrector, but many swear by them. I actually did try this corrector during the recent Sephora sale but returned it. I found that it accentuated my under-eye issues. But again, it seems to be popular.

Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

I don't use Bobbi Brown's foundations, correctors, or concealers.. they don't work well for me. I own more BB than any other brand despite not liking her foundation type products (although I might try the new stick foundation in person) and have plenty for a few decades. If I want something, I'll pick it up in person.

The Corrector is designed to be worn under it's corresponding concealer (or your concealer color from another brand). Without it the tones of the corrector are all peachy and look weird. The product does work when applied properly and can help you look brighter under the eyes.

Re: BB TSV - Anyone Getting?

I've seen Nordstrom's anniversary kit at the counter and as I remember, it has very similar colors to the TSV as far as the eyeshadow goes. It is a bobbi to go with a small eyeshadow pallette, travel size smokey eye mascara and travel size extra eye cream and I believe a small pink lip gloss. It is free with a 150.00 purchase. They are doing presales now.
