Are you embracing the current trend of short fingernails?

For many years I envied all the women who had the nice long fingernails (mostly shop-done acrylics I guess). I thought they looked so ultra-feminine. I have always had to keep mine short for my work.

Now I see that short nails are in, and I am loving the look. Now when I see the long nails, they look outdated. I think the short nails look so fresh, especially painted.

What do you think?

I very much like the shorter nails, I think they look more feminine.

I like it! I think long nails these days look like claws.

I like shorter nails.

I don't like long, oval or long, square nails.

I went back to gel nails, but they are kept short.

I have always had to have short nails because of working around horses.

My nails grow very quickly, but I don't like long nails. I prefer them short because I don't want to poke the dog's eye out. Or my own. And I work in a hospital.

Many reasons. But I do like the look in addition to the practicality.

Sounds like I am in good company.

Now that I think of it, I have been seeing the short look for some time, I just didn't realize that it had become a major trend. A big plus is being able to take care of them at home. I have never had my nails done in a shop, but wanted to. Now I don't give it a second thought.

I ditched acrylics first and gels a bit later and never looked back. However, my nails are very strong and grow very fast so I have to work to keep them short but it's worth the effort - love the new trend toward shorter nails.

Come to think about it, I don't see acrylics out there that much. Of course, since we're QVC watchers, the hosts have the acrylics that we all deem as a "Don't"....hard to miss it when it's in color, in high-def & on a 42"+ screen! The square tips are such a bad look...so unnatural looking. And the new set of white tips that are set too low on the nail bed....bad, bad look. Yes, I'm referencing current, popular hosts. Just go natural. Or cut the tips to an "active length". Short is much, much better.
