@JustJazzmom wrote:I do the eye shadow first before the foundation because sometimes the powder falls below the eye onto the upper cheek. If a primer is used on the face, it just brushes off and no color is seen on the cheek area (from the eye shadow).
*******You can also hold a piece of toilet tissue folded in half under your bottom lashes to catch powder that falls.
Also, you tend to keep more powder eye products on with a sponge applicator but I still tap first.

My most basic:
1) moisturizer
2) sunscreen
3) brows
4) blush
5) lippie
Just missing any eye makeup.
(but my dark-framed eyeglasses help, thankfully!)

SPF
eyeshadow primer
face primer
shadow
liner
foundation
concealer
brows
blush/bronzer
lashes
powder
lips
as you can see, I skip around to various areas of the face. I like to give my products a minute or so to "set" before applying something on top of it and possibly disturbing it.

I have a real basic routine for makeup application for everyday wear:
SPF (including on eyelids)-->Foundation or BB cream/TM--> eye primer--->eye shadow--> mascara-->eye liner (rarely ever for me too)--->lipgloss
I can't see there being any advantage of doing your eye makeup before foundation. Seems kind of strange order but I don't put foundation on my eyes so?

I always always always do my eye makeup first. I put on foundation primer, eyeshadow primer, then eyeshadows. I do that because of the fallout that occurs. Even just a little bit. Then, i follow with concealer, foundation, finishing powder. Then i go back and finish my eyes (eyeliner and mascara). Then my brows and blush to finish

Everyone I know or have known puts foundation on first. I'm 55, so less is more these days. After my primer, I apply my foundation. Then a little concealor on a couple of trouble spots. Blend...blend..blend. I don't use any powder on my face. I don't use eyeliner either, I don't have large eyes and liner "closes" my eyes and makes me look old and mean. Sometimes, I use a neutral eyeshadow; I always use lots and lots of mascara. Lipstick or lipgloss is always the final step.

For special occasions, &/or when I want my eyes & face to turn out pristine without a bunch of extra work, eye makeup application is the first step.
It works out great once you get the hang of it.

As a creature of habit, regardless of how many different ways there are to skin a cat, my order remains:
primer
concealer
foindation
setting powder
eyeshadow
eyeliner (when I use it)
eyebrows
mascara
blush
lips
contour
highlighter
