Anyone Know of a Body Scrub with Little or No Oil??

I'm looking for a body scrub that doesn't have too much oil.  When I've used them in the past my bathtub gets so slippery I'm afraid I'm going to slip and fall.

I used my Skinn facial scrub on my body yesterday, and it worked GREAT! It didn't leave any oily residue in the tub.  But it's too expensive to use all over my body, on a regular basis.

I'm hoping somebody makes one like that for the body, that doesn't cost a fortune.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why not make your own?

@lolakimono - I've wondered about that in the past.  I guess I should look for a recipe.   Thanks for the reminder.

A homemade version of a good face/ body scrub is equal parts brown sugar and honey(any kind- not expensive). If you have really dry, flaky skin use more brown sugar for extra exfoliation. This also works really well if you ever get too much sun and your skin starts to peel.

All the DIY scrub recipes I've seen contain oil. You could try using less than they recommend, but there's going to be oil.

I have a great plastic bath mat that prevents me from slipping and, as an added bonus, catches hair before it slips down the drain. Okay, that last part means I have to pull all the hair off the bottom of the mat and it's gross, but it's sure better than a clogged drain.

Mine looks like this, but it's blue.

@LUVNLIFE - I like the sound of the honey. It doesn't seem like it would be as slippery as one made with oil.  As long as it's not too sticky. LOL.

Do you make it with regular brown sugar from the market, or should I use organic?

@ChynnaBlue - It seems like the body scrubs all have oil, but the facial scrubs I've used (like Skinn) are not oily at all. I wonder what they use in it to make it moist?

Thanks for the suggestion for the bath mat. I used one like that in the past, and liked it very much.  But I can't use them anymore. I have neuropathy in my feet, and the texture on the mat aggravates them.  I have another kind of mat that works relatively well if I'm just using soap and water, but if I use oil, the mat gets as slippery as the tub.

Easy, non-oily body scrub:  take your favorite shower gel, add a bit of sugar in the palm of your hand, mix, and wash away.  You'll get scrubbed and sudsed all at the same time with no oil!  I keep a lock 'n lock bowl full of sugar in my shower for that very reason.

@CaliKat, I just use regular ( nothing organic) brown sugar. I mix it in a small plastic bowl before I shower. Only do a single use batch at a time (1/2 cup each ) for your full body, if you try to make more ahead of time it may not be as exfoliating. In the shower, wet your skin, turn the spray away while you scrub then rinse off and bathe as usual. It's not sticky because it dissolves in the warm water when you rinse it off.

Plain old baking soda makes a fine scrub.  Wet your washcloth, wring it out a lot, then pour baking soda on it.  Scrub away.
