Read my lips.....BECAUSE WE WANT TO. It's a simple as that. What possible difference could it make to OP or anyone else what OTHER people choose to do with their money. I just don't get it at all. Or do people just have hard time understanding that some don't live penny-pincher lives. Some of us actually have careers and friends and families and community interests and we simply do not have the time, energy or desire to hunker down in front of a computer or traipse around town looking for a savings or $1 here or $2 there. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with people who do comparison shop. There's also nothing wrong with seeing what you want and buying it. Maybe it's envy. I don't know. I've just noticed that every day we get a couple posts like this and I don't understand them at all.

I couldn't care less what you do with your money.

Then, why did you post........Why would anyone purchase on the Q when Amazon, Sephora and Philosophy to name a few provide better pricing and free shipping???????

It certainly seems like you are question what other people do with their money.

Have some posts here been deleted? If not, I don't see a post in which straitgirl was questioning anything other than your somewhat angry post, with its insinuations about people's income and their lives and their possible envy.

Definitely Amazon.

Two days ago I decided to order one more present for Christmas. QVC had the item, but so did Amazon. QVCs price and Amazon's was exactly the same 35.00. However, with Shipping/Handling and tax, the QVC price went up to over $46!....on Amazon I got a discounted price with a coupon code and free S/H....and the total price was under $30!

Not only that, QVC delivery date was January 6, 2015. Amazon guaranteed Christmas delivery of 12/22/2014.

QVC MUST improve on prices, offer free shipping and handling and get things to you quicker...if other, if not every, online store can, why can't QVC?

Hope everyone has a great holiday. Smiley Happy

they were able to get the curling iron TSV to me within 2-3 days this week, why not this turnaround during the rest of the year?

I'm astounded by Amazon's quick delivery. Ordered 4 items 3:00 yesterday and I received them today before noon!! There isn't an Amazon processing center in my state. I'm still shaking my head.

Am I missing something?

And Amazon has everything. Even without Prime, I do very, very well there.

And their CS is incredibly good! I am really impressed every single time.

I must be weird. I focus on return policies. How much of a hassle it is, does it require an RMA #, do they even TAKE returns (if not sold by Amazon, return policy's vary), etc.

If an item at the Q is only off by a few bucks, I will buy at the Q because I just know the return policy so clear. I have never had a problem.

A return problem at Amazon (or ebay) can take weeks to undo.

I've been shopping on Amazon for years, and never had a problem like that with returns. Or any problem at all.

Why do people worry about what other people choose to do?

That's exactly right. I used to be a really good QVC customer, but I haven't had any incentive to buy from them in a long time. It's easy to find whatever I want at a lower price, with more reasonable S&H (or none at all), and faster delivery time.

QVC needs to stay competitive because consumers are quickly learning that they have lots of other options.

This assumes all sites have exactly the same products and best price is consistent. That's no so. I shop at all of the above and more based on availability and price. I saw a Dyson on clearance last year with free shipping and drove to local stores to see if anyone had it for less. No one did - QVC beat Target by $100 for the same model and tools and had free shipping and 6 easy pays. Just be smart and don't assume anyone place is better or worse than another - check for each item.

I agree that QVC HAS to do something about their shipping prices. They are out of control. For such a large company, I do not buy into their "well, prices for shipping, gas prices, employees to pack stuff up" and all the other reasons that have been said by customer service.

Back in the day, before people got used to and comfortable with shopping on the internet, QVC had a huge market.

Now, I think they are feeling the competition. Instead of dropping the S & H to something more reasonable, they seem to be dropping products like crazy! There are so many items that pass my mind, and I think 'wonder why such and such item is gone', or other such items that always seemed to be big sellers.

Instead we see hours and hours of vacuums, and Susan Graver, and Wen. The pickings are getting so slim, it is not surprising that people are shopping elsewhere. When I see almost 9 bucks to ship three pairs of socks, I just shake my head.
